Didn't really want to get drawn into this but what the hell. There seems to be a load of people that claim to know what is going on in Jays head, what he has done, what he hasn't done, who he is speaking to, what his plans are, when he will make an announcement etc etc etc. Talk about get on the mans back before the season has even started. Let him do his job then judge him, or failing that just look for the nearest exit, nobody is forcing any of you to stay and watch a team that is clearly going to be relegated by Christmas taking a manager that has no clue what he is doing with them.

How much was he getting whilst playing for us then? That was part of my question, really. We're told we're 'full-time', so do we assume our players are on full-time wages? I suspect not. That whole area is confusing - I assume we pay some players L2 type wages that they can live on without doing other work, and others less, so they have to have a second job. But daytime training presumably means that most 2nd (or 1st) jobs are not possible, so not all players can afford to play for us. I've often wondered if this full-time/part-time mix is one of the main reasons we had such a bad season. We can't keep the good semi-pro players who are dependent on a 2nd/1st job (like Mills), but also we can't offer 'proper' money to our 'full-time' players, so we can't get decent ones, or, if we do, we can't hold on to them. Going 'full-time', with daytime training, was supposed to be the big change that would turn us into a regular NL club, and lay the groundwork for promotion to the EFL. But I suspect it just left us in nowhere land, with the drawbacks of both approaches and the advantages of neither. I believe a big issue has also been the fact that contracts offered to players are usually for the season only, i.e. they don't get paid once the season ends until it starts again. I would guess there are many not able to take that kind of deal without having a 'back-up' job too.

Like the idea of Lewis as player coach, except that previous experience tells us Jay is not the most forward thinking when making subs. Stu would not be in his ear while out on the pitch. So, who then? Somebody attack minded hopefully, from L1 or L2, approaching end of playing career and looking for a route into management. Petrov?

People are questioning Jays attitude in the after match interview, why was he so low etc? It;s cos he bloody cares, his team has played badly and lost and he knows that. What would you rather he do, stand there grinning and say 'shit happens'?, He is feeling this more than any of us and if you think that because you spend 15 quid to watch you know better than Jay, you are sadly mistaken. I for one believe he has more than earned the right for some support after all he's done to get this club where it is. Judge him at the end of the season but until then give him the support and get behind the team. Those of you that won't even clap them off at the end, do you think they went out there to lose, do you think they are not feeling it too? If you can't support us through the bad times then you don't deserve to share the good times. I don't suppose Jay reads any of this but in case he does, the majority of fans are still with you Jay, because we remember the REALLY bad times.

The highlights are up early! But no handbags, which was the most exciting part of the match for the first 95 minutes. Is this a club rule, not to show bad behaviour, or is it in case there is an FA enquiry? How are we to test DaveU's eyesight without it? m.youtube.com/watch?v=Y-_UTk7TRREI've not had chance to watch the highlights yet but I do hope it shows Chesters number 6 spewing his guts up just before kick-off. He was still trying to rub it into the pitch with his boot as we kicked off. Nerves?? Or a 'proper' footballer that had had 15 pints of Devils Foreskin the night before. Someone make my day and tell me he had at least 3 Woodbines at half time.

I don't think there is going to be any segregation either. Atmosphere should be great. I know it's a Tuesday night but I am doing my best to get there, wife permitting. Sorry did I say wife? I meant work ;-)

I hope Jamar is soon up to full fitness. I think he and Hines will be great together. Am I right in thinking Hines loan is up in January? If that's the case let's hope they get a few good months together.

Standing next to a pitch at Swadelands last night coaching 13 year olds and freezing my t!ts off now sounds like an escape given the comments on here. I clearly cannot comment on the performance and at best it sounded abject but at the beginning of the season I would suggest most of us would've taken this position. Yes we have players still finding their way, and to a degree so is Jay, but wake up and smell the coffee people, things aren't all bad. We go again on Saturday when I would suggest we might see some changes. 3 points will make us all feel better.
