A new ground regulation as from Sunday’s game.
Obviously to address the problem of unruly youths.
Will affect attendances but a sensible move?

I don’t see why Facebook users are so up in arms it is literally for 1 game then a youth membership will be in place. Also these kids can still go as long as they are with an adult! 🤷🏼♂️

Well my origins go back quite a long time and I well remember going to support the Stones, along with mates, from about the age of 11 years. Our dads were just not interested. Hopefully the proposed youth membership scheme will do the business for all our young supporters whose parents dont attend home matches. The club may lose some support but it does feel the right thing to do.

Coming out from under my bridge to comment!
Sadly this is due to the knowledge that the recent issues at games have been caused by the younger fans who all seem to think they are Danny Dyer in Green Street.
I’m sure the club will sort the membership scheme asap so that those actually coming for the match can do so in peace and those coming for trouble will have their actions inhibited by knowing Mum and/or Dad will be told of their naughtiness should it occur.
Personally I can’t see the problem, as one of those who have to deal with injuries caused by coins being thrown etc…

Assume this applies to away fans as well. While I don’t like the idea, the club have obviously worked out where a lot of problems are originating. Kids at the front of the stand having bottles thrown at them by kids at the back cannot be allowed to continue. Left unchecked, it’s only a matter of time before a child suffers a serious injury. Have to say though, it was impressive the way the younger fans dealt with a bottle thrower during the Welling game.

I can understand why some of the youngsters feel it's harsh but, sadly, a minority of them spoil it for the rest by doing things they think are 'big and clever', when the truth is it's just plain stupidity. When they do those things, our opponents don't put these incidents down to a few misguided youths at the back of the stand - to the rest of the world it's "Maidstone United fans" misbehaving and they will give the club a reputation we don't deserve.
It is of course fantastic that we have hundreds of young fans who come to The Gallagher these days, and long may it continue. Hopefully when they calm down a bit the younger fans who behave themselves will get this into context and realise why it was necessary.

Agree with everything you said jayser and the following of our young support is fantastic and growing all the time. Many of us remember coming along to support Stones from quite a young age, without being accompanied by dads. I have watched 100s of matches, my dad's attendances number nil. So for plenty of young supporters it is just not possible to oblige a father figure to attend. The club is pointing the finger at a couple of dozen annoying youngsters who are troublesome at present. But it is such a shame that the completely innocent get drawn in and penalised too Hopefully it will just be for one match and the idea of a youth scheme can get off the ground quickly and without too much fuss. Today's youngsters are also tomorrows supporters.

Long queues to get in. Proper searches. Kids being asked for ID at the gates. One known to stewards told he isn’t coming in at all. Looks like a decent crowd already.

As predicted by me.🙂
Also searches on the high level bridge after.
Only ejection I saw was a Tonbridge fan who was soon followed by his mate who tried to intervene.
What was the deal with their keeper at the end?
Packed in all sections of the ground. Would we have coped if another 1000 turned up?

Today we launched the new under 14 membership card, can someone please remind me how this will help stop the little shits being, well, little shits? Because they'll have to provide contact details for their parents as a condition of membership. And presumably easier to police. If they misbehave it'll be taken away so no chance to get in again.

They also have to provide photographic I.D. so will be easier to identify perpetrators
