Some social media reports suggesting coins still thrown? Were the perpetrators unaccompanied under 14s, or allowed in as older? Full credit to the club for trying to resolve this, but the best solution is still separate stands.

I agree barney. Not helped by how the club infrastructure has grown, at least in a piecemeal fashion.
At present we only have segregation for a few matches, if we get promotion to the National league I imagine the number of occasions will increase.
Despite objections by a some TE diehards, I think the solution is to hand over the TE stand to away supporters when segregation is essential.
Clearly this will still involve the movement of some 'facilities' and installation of barriers.
Not perfect but better than what we have.
So much better to get our support together in the kop and the best viewing facilities.
Much LESS aggro between opposing supporters
What's there not to like ?

The costs involved. But if you have the money to spare maybe the club would give some thought, but I would guess that to move so much would cost a few grand

Would save on the 1000's they are having to spend on Police in the ground though surely for segregated matches currently ?

They would need to install at least 4 new turnstile blocks at the Genco end to allow the number of home supporters to enter in that end to meet ground grading requirements. That would need planning permission and where would they go? That also requires new improved bar facilities at the Genco end and also expecting main stand spectatotors many who have mobility issues to enter via the current away steps Not logistically possible. You would have to instead make all the Genco away which no one wants. We are not the only club to do same stand segregation. I think the best way to resolve it is to identify perpatratorsand ban them if that's not possible make the Genco including the away section seated.

Erecting a barrier is feasible and very easy.
But forget barriers, forget turnstiles and exits, forget pie huts, toilets and bars. Ask yourself, are you happy supporting a club that now has a lousy reputation for kids throwing coins and bottles? I’m not; it’s embarrassing. I’ll give the club credit for trying to sort it out, but it hasn’t worked…yet. Soon all away fans will hear about this and avoid visiting, or we’ll get away club idiots looking for trouble. And if we get in the National League, some away fans are going to be much tastier than Dartford. Then home fans will avoid games with likely trouble. We don’t have a choice. If it can’t be tackled by stewarding and youth clubs, the National League or police may impose worse penalties. Or we could just segregate in a way that prevents trouble.

Maybe the answer is to let the little shits take a kicking, once they realise how much it hurts they'll behave.

Such a moaner. Young kids are not all the shits you are describing. Hard to believe, but remember you were young too once. The atmosphere and support they give the team is great. Fantastic to see so many youngsters enjoying themselves. The behaviour of some (def a small minority)is unacceptable and the club is right to take the measures being introduced. Don't let's throw out the baby with the bathwater.

I can only guess you must be a Main Stander. If you ever experienced life in the Genco Stand you may form a different view of the World, let alone the desirability of making changes for the better. So negative. Maybe it's an age thing.

Segregating the town end is EASY and there is no need for extra turnstiles and the only thing lost to the away fans apart from the stand is the burger bar and the toilets near it.

The club shop, the pie hut, the outside bar, the spitfire lounge. How are you gonna segregate with losing those. By putting up some insubstantial temporary barrier that could be overcome with minimal effort by anyone who wanted to. Any kind of permanent solution would cost a fortune, just because a few morons can't behave like civilized human beings.

I have worked in the construction industry for 40 years you pig headed know all. I have actually worked on segregation in football grounds. Have You? Everything you don't understand is rubbish in your view.

You are dead right soul stone and not just about daveu. Every 'problem' he describes has a solution and some very simple. There are people who are so stuck in their ways. Some lead, others follow.
