So you're planning on asking season ticket holders to give up their seats for away fans, and more importantly, have two separate areas of segregation.

I would hate to go through life with such a rigid mindset and no creativity. Dave doesn’t want it so it must never happen. However did you survive on the many occasions away fans have sat in the last few rows of the main stand? No barriers, no trouble, no stewards. Or maybe use a little imagination. Put something like this on half of the riverside around the corner from the Town End. The club have already put barriers behind the dugouts; make it a sterile area. Just think how much money we wasted on the open air “players stand”.

I hear that there are auditions down the Hazlitt tomorrow for a brand new production of King Canute. We have a couple of characters on this forum ideally typecast for the role (no names).

I shouldn't worry, I think Mr Negative is likely to take it as a compliment.

I think the club has more important things to worry about than reconfiguring the ground at great expense to satisfy a few malcontents. You all think it's gonna be so cheap and easy to achieve. I don't agree, it's that simple. I also believe when the town end does eventually get redeveloped it will become the home end, but if it becomes the away end now, that opportunity will be lost, and indeed, that redevelopment will no longer happen.

All part of lives rich tapestry. Some people are able to identify opportunities, embrace change and seize the moment. Others much prefer things to stay the same and stubbornly stick to the status quo, quite unable to comprehend contrary arguments. Can't be helped, it's human nature.

Dave didn’t answer my question about the many times visiting fans have sat in the main stand. No coins, no bottles, no trouble. There are empty main stand seats for most games, and not enough season ticket holders to prevent 30 seats at one end being given to away fans. But it’s fine for me to have to move every time there’s segregation.

Do you all seriously think that the club its officers etc have not considered these options and discounted them for what are no doubt sound reasons given they will be more commencerate with the facts and regulations than any of us on here.
It's not about not wanting change it's whether having all the facts to hand its a runner or not. I don't believe it is, that doesn't make me rigid. I am convinced if it was beneficial and as easy / permissable as some suggest these changes would be either already made or openly discussed and in the process of becoming.
Just because you want it to happen doesn't make you right as much as me not thinking its a goer makes me wrong

I wouldn't hold your breath barney.
Your contrary views to daveu are held to be "rubbish" and "garbage" and you are a "malcontent"
If it's any consolation, resorting to name-calling is usually a sign of someone having lost the argument.

But it’s fine for me to have to move every time there’s segregation. You may not mind moving, but there are many reasons why people may not want to. Most long term season ticket holders chose their seat for a reason, sitting with friends, the view etc. I would move if necessary but I don't think it's required. The other thing that everyone seems to have forgotten is that the Genco was designed and built with segregation in mind. Had it been completed there would have been two separate areas underneath the stand with separate facilities for home and away supporters. It's part of the overall plan for the development of the ground. Maybe reconfiguring in the way some of you want gets in the way of that plan.

Where do you plan to stand when they close the Town End for a season to rebuild it? Down the Elvis end in a pot under the stand.
