Rubbish. The club shop, the pie hut, the outside bar, the spitfire lounge. How are you gonna segregate with losing those. By putting up some insubstantial temporary barrier that could be overcome with minimal effort by anyone who wanted to. Any kind of permanent solution would cost a fortune, just because a few morons can't behave like civilized human beings. I have worked in the construction industry for 40 years you pig headed know all. I have actually worked on segregation in football grounds. Have You? Everything you don't understand is rubbish in your view. If it was so easy the club would have done something about it by now you. No need to be insulting just because not everyone shares your views.

Facilities already exist at the Genco end. There are two pie shops, one not in use at the moment, plus the bar under the stand and toilets. Town end facilities are all in temporary/mobile units, so hardly difficult to move the club shop and sweet stand to the other end, you'd think. That leaves the turnstiles. If it is one per 700 spectators, then the Genco nominally needs one more: therefore a few thousand quid maybe? At the Town end, would assume the ones by the Spitfire would have to stay for home fans, meaning the ones by the river would be for away fans. However, how many fans does the Town end hold? If it is less than 700, then only one turnstile required for away fans. Therefore by no means impossible to either give one turnstile to home fans standing along the Riverside and/or rejig the exit gates. Away fans wanting seats could easily be asked to pre-book, with a limit on numbers. They could then be allowed in through home turnstiles, to a designated area because their tickets would identify them (via payment details) so trouble makers would be both barred and reported to their home clubs. The most expensive element is likely to be fencing, but overall, it would be interesting to know the likely cost of such alterations. That can then be set against any likely savings in policing and indeed larger gates because of better security, which may well include more families attending. The last two home games have shown what a full Genco end can do in terms of home crowd noise at atmosphere. The club should certainly thinking about capitalising on this in my opinion. Whether it IS feasible or not, I have no idea, but to do nothing, or simply say it is not possible or worth it, seems very short sighted and for me, a couple of grand spent on a basic feasibility study would be money well spent. Gate money must have increased by £25-30k in the last two games alone by the way, so nobody can say we can't afford to at least have someone look into it all.

When the club finally get round to being able to redevelop the town end per their plans then we won't mind the Genco housing the away fans

I feel this is terrain where even Angels fear to tread. Fact is daveu whenever and whoever supports the case for the Genco Stand being exclusively for Stones supporters, you seem to go off the deep end. Any and all posts you describe as rubbish or garbage. What is your problem ?

What must be very true is that 99% of supporters that use the Genco Stand would wish it was just for Stones supporters.
Daveu has a different point view but I'm not quite sure why a Mainstander should be that bothered either way.

Shame really that the Genco stand wasn't developed at the Town End in which case we wouldn't be having this discussion.
I know about the ultimate plans for the Town End but the further we travel in time, the likelihood seems to recede.
Sometimes plans have to change. Need to take a reality check.
Just seems so obvious that the Genco end will be our exclusive kop at some time in the future.
Sooner rather than later I hope.

If you ask almost any regular supporter from the Genco Stand he or she would like it to be ALL STONES.
Why somebody from a seat in the main stand is so anti beats me.

The Genco stand is great for the home supporters. But why give the best views in the stadium to visitors. The aggro is just a side show. Let's look after the home support first.

Seems to me that the only Stones supporters who dont favour the Genco being our KOP, dont hardly ever stand there anyhow.
Strange !

The development at the Town End wont happen any time soon.
Till then and it is probably years if not decades away, the Genco will have to do for home supporters.

I should think the Stand's main sponsor - GENCO - would be more than happy to think it was the main home of Stones support.

The Riverside development is likely to come first that will be all seated for around 950 we could then give the far end of the main stand to away supporters, being its seated already and up the right end for the current set up as well, just have to find the £950,000 to build it first
