I didn't go to Chippenham so can't comment too much on that one. However 2 goals in 4 games ( both from defenders and both from set plays from Ben Brookes (best of the summer signings so far IMHO) is not the goal scoring rate that is going to see us challenging for promotion.
I get it George, the defense looks great but 0 goals v WSM on Monday = 0 chance of challenging for promotion IMHO.
Time for the forwards to step up ! ?

Meh. Promotion to the National League is overrated. Ebbsfleet have zero points and 13 goals conceded in their first four games. If they can’t sustain National League football after spending £20 million, what chance do we have on our budget? It’ll come good in the end and Maidstone will make the playoffs. Our forward line should be terrorising defences. In George we trust.

Like the people who leave before the whistle or the fans who don't clap every single time.

Well the bookies have faith in our George and his absent forward line as they have us at 5/8 favourites with WSM way out at 18/5. The draw is 13/5 and could be worth a punt. I had pencilled in this game as my long awaited return to the Gallagher but a last minute decision to bugger off for a long Bank Holiday break by the sea has changed that,I'll be at Hythe v Sheppey providing we don't have another monsoon that ruined my visit to Folkestone v Cray Valley. I hope we can get a win as 3 games at home without one would definitely set alarm bells ringing and a possible drop into the bottom four, well let's say its not acceptable .COYS!

Even if we score none tomorrow, Still think we have a chance of promotion

According to the OS, we have 6 (SIX!) forwards and one midfielder/forward.
And yet, in over 360 minutes of football, none of them have scored, or rarely even come close to scoring.
This is not minor problem.

The Club, not just George, should be seeing this game as a huge opportunity after a mediocre start. Likely to be a reasonable gate (no other league matches above NL) and if attendances are to rise, then entertainment as well as effort are required. Another lacklustre performance and there will start to be folk who can't be arsed to part with their money. 0-0 at BW on Saturday would be good. Another dull game today will not.

Benton drops to the Bench. Corne back in. Season back in the squad.

Oh dear - another half of tedium. Did either keeper have to make a save? We certainly didn't manage a shot on target. Again. Our favourite passes are: 1. Sideways 2. Backwards 3. A long hoof upfield When we do get near their goal, the final pass goes astray. Not good... Extract the digit people!

Too scared to give the ball away in midfield and so don’t try anything other than the usual along the back and down the sides.
It’s very risk averse and negates the fact that we have better players than most in forward positions
