Oh dear oh dear no creativity that even looked like a goal. Now it’s getting concerning. We have the right strikers on paper but we aren’t creating anything for them. No wingers taking people on and making chances. No boldness in midfield to push into dangerous positions. Real test now for George and Craig. It HAS to improve. Soon.

Absolute crap. What does George teach the players during the week. So dreadful. Can’t pass, pass create, can’t shoot and can’t defend set pieces. Going to get toxic

Ye gods! We do not have a f**king clue! If the current squad are meant to be an improvement on last season then management have got it seriously wrong. Even in injury time, a goal down, we still pass side to side, then back, then a long aimless hoof upfield. Enough games now to see we are seriously inept. Never mind the fact the forwards can't score, they can't pass or control the ball either. None of the sides we have played so far have been anything special, but there is a simple formula to playing Maidstone. Park the bus in defence and then wait for a mistake at the other end. At worst, you will get a 0-0 draw, but there is every chance of a win doing things that way. You don't need to do much more because we offer no threat going forwards, so why wear yourself out? George is in trouble.

Athletes over footballers?
No fluidity.
Played as if we’d score eventually without anyone taking responsibility for it happening.
Were beaten as soon as they scored

it had all the makings of a dull 0-0 then, a chance was taken and someone got a soft goal- As for chanting anti George - FFS? by a fickle few who probably were not three last season or if they were, they were on the back of the glorious FA Cup run. The squad did the round of the pitch afterwards, for those who stayed- the season supporters got to do the usual with the squad, back patting etc- then notably, the squad came around to us MS fans- after all, we too pay our dues each year and most who stayed were happy to applaud Geoerge and the team. Not a good game to watch, few moments of hope, but its early-season and a different squad from last run.

Please correct me if I’m wrong, but the only injuries we are currently working with are defenders or central midfield?
So if we have a fully functioning strike force and have managed two goals in 450 minutes and one of those was off the knee of a centre back we are going to have to dip into the loan market sooner rather than later.
I will give George his due on paper this attack should be banging goals in, but here we are!!

Now averaging 1pt per game, come April we'll be on the cuff of Isthmian Premier football should that continue.

The tactics have not changed and the only (faint) hope of scoring is if our centre backs can convert a set piece. Blair works hard but he tries to lay the ball back instead of taking on the defender. Last year if Sol was in that position he would likely get a pen. With short forwards they cannot expect to cope with the high balls down the middle. We need to play the ball down the wings and finish with a low cross which would give our forwards a chance. I cannot remember their keeper having to make a save. The players are working hard so the tactics must be wrong. Boreham Wood should have been a crunch game but a 0-0 is the best we can hope for.

Awful. The best team won on the day. I forecast 0-0 on the other thread so has half right. Neutrals might well have thought that the home team were playing in white.
Just like the H&R game it was obvious after 10 minutes what the problems were. In this game we should have switched to a back three & put an additional player in midfield where we were being overrun.
I don't agree with booing the players as they were all trying but were hampered by poor team selection & awful tactics. Stones tactics seem to be to pass sideways/back then hoof the ball forward & give away possession. Maybe George could explain to the supporters what the team tactics are? I think that Bentley & Gurung are not good enough at this level. Fonkeu was pretty invisible. The rest are OK but the decision not to retain Sam Bone seems more inexplicable as each game passes.
We are seeing mid-table form at best. If George believes that he can turn it around then he should be given the chance but if he has any doubts then he should do the honourable thing.

Glad I missed this one, by the sound of it. Anyone still believing that we'll be OK once the team gells and the forwards start banging in the goals?
I'm afraid the signs were there at St Albans, and nothing's changed since.
Starting to feel horribly like 22-23.

In my 7/8 years of watching the stones, I've never seen such a bad home performance, that was actually horrific
