We can agree.
Very disappointing from George.

We can agree. Very disappointing from George. He can do and say what he wants as he is on a 2 year contract and we definitely cannot afford to sack him.

What struck me was that our attacking system against Truro ( passing the ball from side to side on the edge of the penalty area but without ever getting a shot away) was repeated last night. If it didn’t work on Saturday, wouldn’t you expect some change in tactics to be tried? I thought pre- season was the time to hone tactics and combinations. The season is now at least 6 weeks old. Other teams can hit the ground (league season) running. Why do the stones have to ease into the season every year?

It’s a bizarre thing to say. He must be feeling the pressure. I lll ignore it as it’s isn’t worth my time. Foolish But you didn’t. Just saying……….

Still it is a really bizarre statement coming from George.
To instruct his team not to applaud the Genco stand supporters anymore is wierd.

Shocked by George's comments tbh.
If players don't want to show appreciation to their supporters sobeit.
Paying supporters have the right to leave the ground when they wish.
They will applaud a good performance but last night's effort left a bit to be desired.
Surprised by George's response.

Players at other local clubs like Bearsted and Snodland players always applaud their supporters, however few and unenthusiastic they are.
Why should Stones think they are above it !

I wasn't there last night due to work commitments but it looks like George has made a bad situation worse. Shocking really this early into the season. 3 games in and it's now a case of fans vs manager when in reality, he should have accepted that it's been 3 less than inspiring performances on the bounce, held his hands up said it hasn't been good enough. Calling out fans seems... odd?
I hope we suddenly burst into life this weekend because I like George, but this all seems very ominous this early on.

George expects supporters to applaude his team however well or indifferently they play.
Just not real.
Good performances attract positive responses from the terraces.
Anything less and supporters are going to feel underwhelmed.
Imo not a good tactic for George to be moaning at our supporters who don't stay to the end, cheering our team after another disappointing performance.

Dover's owner was forever having a go at the fans for not supporting the team 'properly'.
So we can see how well that approach goes...

These players are not volunteers, they are paid and this is their job. If fans pay £17 to be entertained and they have to watch something which is not entertaining they don’t have to applaud their efforts. I’m sure the manager and players have aspirations to either manage or play at a higher level given the chance. None of them love the club like the fans. If you think a single one of them would celebrate a goal against us should they play for another club in the future you are mad.
George clearly has a massive ego and was riding high on the Fa cup wave. Now back to reality and with a playoff level budget he now has to reach that and the squad he has assembled so far appears to be some way off that level at the moment. As a fan I was pissed off with the way he shouted at us, but more importantly the players must have been mortified and embarrassed! George either can’t see why fans are annoyed or he can’t cope with the criticism and or expectations which is more worrying.
Last night was one of those games that if you had taken a mate who only watches Premier League football and you had assured him that the standard is actually quite good at the Gallagher you would be eating some humble pie from the pie hut!

I get the impression that George thinks the team is playing well enough and supporters are there to lap it up.
Sorry George but I think you have got it wrong this time.
The team is stuttering, they are playing ok but no better. Defensively sound enough but attacking wise, not much to shout about.
Just a shade underwhelming all round and most of us had hoped for a better start.
Well it hasn't happened and we hope for some improvement over the next few matches. Maybe then the Genco will start rocking.
In the meantime having a dig at Stones supporters isn't a good look.
Better that he accepts that performances in our 2 home matches have been under par and focus on the players.

I’m glad the jumping for joy after every win is over. It was suitable for promotion and cup runs, but a bit over the top for average NLS games. But George needs to be careful having a go at fans whose support he may need in tougher times. He’s done it before quite aggressively and it crosses a line. I’ve always supported him, in the early days when he couldn’t get a win, and will do do again when the going gets tough. But maybe it’s just part of learning how to be a manager. The wins will come and the team will be heroes again. Relax George; we’re lucky to have each other right now. Long May it last.

George has really lost the plot here
No one was even moaning about him, yet now he's managed to turn a lot of fans against him 3 games into the season.
Even on Saturday games I can't be arsed to hang around and just head for the exit as soon as the whistle goes, to then have George claim people not clapping aren't proper fans is absolutely ridiculous.
Starting a manager against the fans' thing never ends well
