3 matches in and our striking force has delivered a big fat zero.
What's almost worse there were not really any good chances that we failed to put away, half chances maybe, but def no sitters.
This line up is defensively inclined, we won't concede many but don't expect too much excitement.
If supporters thought the Truro match was dull, then this was worse.
So little creativity, movement and passing seriously slow, just not breaking down defences or looking like scoring goals.

Our forwards are midgets. We need a target man with one of them to play along side them. No lack of effort and plenty of possession but we just keep passing around until one gives the ball away. I don't remember a shot by a forward all game. Lack of wing play which would at least create some excitement. Houston we have a problem

How can George have put together a team that is worse than last years team? Last years team had character and fight. This team just wants to play hoof ball. How can you replace someone like Bone with Krasniqi. No comparison at all. At the moment it seems that the new recruitment has not gone well at all. I know it’s early days but not looking good at all.

Well….
My first game of the season.

Positives.. Keeper looks pretty affective. No Covolan, but pretty good and will be fine.
Left back Ben Brookes is very good.

Back four in general look pretty solid, but their distribution was very poor in general.
And that is where the positives end. This team as it stands look like mid table at best.
Going forward we look as bad as I’ve seen us look in many years.

But my Biggest red flag of the day was George shouting at the fans as we walked out “CLAP AND CHEER” the players.
For me this suggests desperation or very low expectations from the manager! Yes I believe they tried their hardest, but the lack of quality was stark! That’s on the manager’s recruitment.

I think the squad that finishes this season will look nothing like the one that started this game.

George arguing/shouting at the fans because they weren't clapping the players at the end hasn't gone down well with the supporters.

It’s the same start as last year and the same tactics.

It is shaping up to be a pragmatic approach again.

Results will improve and it’s early to be claiming this side isn’t better than last seasons.

George must be feeling the pressure if he is telling fans to clap and cheer, or he doesn’t get that fans want to be entertained.

The positives:

Clean sheet

Didn't lose

No one sent off

No one seriously injured

Marginally less awful than Saturday

Pitch looks good

I didn't have to use the portaloos

I died a little bit inside!

Football is an entertainment industry and if it’s not entertaining then don’t expect a standing ovation at the end!!

Booing the team was probably a little bit much from the fans, but as a manger you can’t scream at the paying customers if they have just sat through 90 minutes of no shots on target!

This team at the moment looks like we have recruited badly.
Of course we want the team to improve, tactics are very important, but we just looked like tactics were not going to make much difference with the players in the pitch.

Tonight has tempered my expectations of this season.

And they definitely aren’t working right now.
Being mid table NLS due to our budget restrictions is one thing but playing dull football will turn crowds away quickly.
Needs to change now - ten games in of this and crowds will go below 2000 and may take a while to go up again.
So my hits and misses may not have been so negative after all!
