Seems a couple of people suffered crush injuries at the end of the game. According to a post on facebook one ended up in Maidstone hospital with seven broken ribs. Don’t want to be a killjoy but maybe we need to do more to prevent pitch invasions at the end of games like yesterday. Not only can they be dangerous but might also lead to the club being fined. Part of the problem in the Genco was the security staff letting loads of people stand on the steps where you aren't meant to stand. It looked like far too many people had been let into the stand.

The kids always run down the front at the end, particularly if we’re winning. One extra expense from the profits of the next big cup game should be more stewards to keep people in the stand, and stop wankers running on the pitch towards away fans. A couple of grand out of several hundred thousand isn’t too much for safety.

As an example, Chelsea vs Preston sold 39,705 tickets. The tickets were prices in Band D which is £32 for adults and £16 for Junior/senior. If 75% of those in attendance were full paying adults, then that generates around 1.1 million pounds. Both teams got a 45% split of that, so Preston got £500,000 for their trip to the capital. Now if we were to get Arsenal instead, their cheapest tickets are around £40 on average and they will get no less that 59,000 people on the day no matter who they play. So when taking into account a guess at 75% are full paying adults the bigger stadium and more expensive tickets generates 2.1 million pounds. So 45% of that would be about £950,000 for Maidstone! So I want Arsenal away!!!!! or Man Utd, as they will get over 70,000 in for any match! Alas I don't think there is anything stopping a big club from reducing prices to the minimum £10 to attract home fans to a game of no real interest to them,it may be the biggest day in our history but for the Prem giants it will just be an annoyance.

No new stand is needed. Our ground is perfectly adequate for the size of the club and its supporter base. Most games have an attendance well below capacity and the few that do not don't justify the expense of a new stand. The reality is we are never going to be a Gillingham or anything close to it. If the ground was bursting at capacity every week, it would be a different story. Yeah I agree. Although I think the owners would like to hand it over “football league ready”. If I were to spend money I’d probably do the Riverside and terrace it a bit If the owners want to hand it over football league ready then why waste £200,000 laying an new 3G pitch that will never be accepted.

We saw a guy being wheeled off the pitch in a sort of chair towards the end - didn't look at all well.
Pitch 'invasions' like yesterday are all well and good, but only because the Stevenage fans did the decent thing and just filed out quietly. If that had been almost any other senior club, e could have had trouble - then it would have looked very different. And, technically, it's against the rules and if the FA wanted to they could fine the club, or perhaps worse - how would those fans like it if their actions lost us our first ever 4th round?
If we want to be taken seriously as a 'big' club, we need to start behaving like one - fans, stewards and officials. It's not just a question of stewarding properly, stopping people climbing over the barrier, etc, the club needs to make it clear from the start that fans on the pitch won't be tolerated - warnings when selling tickets, PA announcements during the game, etc.

Well done Stones on your win today. Thanks, Phil, appreciated. I see your lot won for a change, which must have been a relief - you were starting to look like a repeat of us last season! Not very convincing tbh, but I'll take it. You need a good draw now to help with the bank balance........

Many many teams have pitch invasions at the end of games after a HUGE result. Its not like we are the only fans to have done it.

As for 'football league ready' - if we ever get anywhere near the EFL, we are going to have to spend quite a bit. No standing around the pitch and all-seater stands would lower our capacity by 1,000 or more. So a decent sized TE and a river side stand would be essential to give us any sort of decent capacity. But, even with that, you're still looking at a final capacity in the 5k area, at best. That's not a problem, in itself, in fact it would make a very nice stadium - OK for 2-3k for league gates, without feeling empty, and still reasonable for the bigger games. Although, if anyone's dreaming of anything more that 5k, it's not going to happen without a move - and that's drifting off into real cloud-cuckoo land!
But, if the club is serious about playing at NL league level, it will have to start thinking in 'EFL ready' terms for the stadium fairly soon - at least where safe segregation for visits from bigger clubs is concerned. And - whatever solution is finally chosen for segregation - that will involve a new, bigger, TE at the very least - and probably the river side stadium as well. Even if we never get anywhere near the EFL.

Big team up north for me. Liverpool, Manchester, Newcastle all sounds good. We could undertake a protest about Newcastle's owners if we drew them Maybe we could merge with them 🤣🤣🤣 Yes. Introduce sharia law for visiting fans🤣🤣

All well and good to be thinking about 'EFL ready', but we are not even National League ready - and nor it seems are many of the clubs promoted there in the last two seasons. To get to the EFL, you first have to negotiate that poisoned chalice, with expenditure rising significantly, but income not. Yes the likes of Maidenhead and Wealdstone seem to have a formula, but just about everyone else has sugar daddy owners and/or ex FL infrastructure, so they can spend more on their playing budget to survive. For me, we have already achieved really well this season, looking secure in the league and with this all important cup run bringing some valuable jam on our bread. If it also now makes potential investors want to take notice, that would be the icing on top and then maybe, just maybe we might be in a position to cope in the NL, if promoted and after that, who knows?
