So £250,000 in prize money plus various gate receipts. That’s the new pitch and last year’s deficit covered. Anything from this moment is profit towards the new riverside stand? 🤣🤣🤣🤣 dream on. We need a new security hut as the current one has been in place for over a month.

Highlights show it certainly was a penalty this time, the only doubt being which of the three 'tackles' in quick succession was the most deserving! The perfect penalty by Corne, not least because the keeper guessed correctly and almost got there. Not there, but while we rode our luck a bit (especially the bar then post moment), almost every game has something like that and as a game it will forever be part of club history and folklore. Sam Corne looked to be everywhere, guess it is him and Covolan as joint Motm? Nice interview with George too. Very humble. Corne had his moments but not a motm performance. The contrasting free kick and penalty summed up his game perfectly. Hard to pick one individual. The back four were immense and Sol W-S worth a mention even though he only played 70 minutes, but I think my candidate would be Sam Bone.

Hard to pick a MOTM and it doesn’t need one.
Glad Stevenage didn’t try and out football us which gave us a chance.

How about repaying some of the owners’ loans? Go ahead then. It is known they want to sell. A good cup run will make the club finances and prospects look better, giving them a chance to recoup their investment on the way out. So who do we want in the draw? Although it will hasten the end of the run, a big club away (Wolves?) will bring in money and great publicity. Edit. Good to read all the above. Wolves would be great for George, otherwise any of the big grounds in London, then the Manchesters. Much as a home draw would be great, suspect the money is now more important, along with time in the spotlight that a PL club will surely bring - maybe new investors too?

I'd love a big game in Manchester/Liverpool/Newcastle/London. Forget about who it is, just think about the money. An away trip to the Emirates or Old Trafford will bring our FA Cup money up to near a million pounds!!!!

Away to Leicester for me. Haven't been up to see my home-town team for a while.

As an example, Chelsea vs Preston sold 39,705 tickets. The tickets were prices in Band D which is £32 for adults and £16 for Junior/senior. If 75% of those in attendance were full paying adults, then that generates around 1.1 million pounds. Both teams got a 45% split of that, so Preston got £500,000 for their trip to the capital. Now if we were to get Arsenal instead, their cheapest tickets are around £40 on average and they will get no less that 59,000 people on the day no matter who they play. So when taking into account a guess at 75% are full paying adults the bigger stadium and more expensive tickets generates 2.1 million pounds. So 45% of that would be about £950,000 for Maidstone! So I want Arsenal away!!!!!
or Man Utd, as they will get over 70,000 in for any match!

I’m not hoping for a particular result. I am hoping for a match that is enjoyable for the fans and for the players, with a lot of good-natured smiling and handshaking from both teams (and benches) afterward, much pie and chips aforehand (for me, not the players obvs) and enough effort from the Stones to justify a feeling of pride in a good job well done. I might just dare to hope for some decent weather, and some well-marshalled, spirited defending… What a great day.

Big team up north for me. Liverpool, Manchester, Newcastle all sounds good.
We could undertake a protest about Newcastle's owners if we drew them

Looking at who is still in the hat for round four, it appears there is about a 25% chance of a big pay day, around the same for someone interesting, like Wolves or Forest, and 50%chance of somebody dull, complete with a lowish gate. If, heaven forbid, the latter, guess we'll just have to do it the hard way and get the prize money instead...
