Well it's time to start thinking about Saturday and the bookies have Stevenage as overwhelming favourites at 4/11 though you can get 1/2 if you are quick. Our odds range from 5/1 to 13/2 which us a little insulting seeing as we are at home on plastic. The draw is good odds at 16/5 and though I don't think we'll hold them a couple of quid on both teams to score and a draw might prove profitable if I'm wrong. My friend in Germany is trying to broadcast the game almost live on You Tube but will not know if its possible until the day but worth tapping it in at kickoff to see if it's on. As I've said elsewhere I do not think the squad is good enough to to win or even draw but am happy to walk around with egg on my face if I'm wrong.

I’m not hoping for a particular result. I am hoping for a match that is enjoyable for the fans and for the players, with a lot of good-natured smiling and handshaking from both teams (and benches) afterward, much pie and chips aforehand (for me, not the players obvs) and enough effort from the Stones to justify a feeling of pride in a good job well done.
I might just dare to hope for some decent weather, and some well-marshalled, spirited defending…

Last time they did that a kid asked me to wave at the steward on the riverside who had let him through, to pretend to be his dad. Any Stevenage fans are welcome, but might be more comfortable in the town end, or in front of the main stand near their own section.

Watched the first half of the Palace game, hoping it might eventually come to life, but gave up. It made our recent games look very exciting, while the incessant chanting of the Palace fans only added to the tedium.
