I think Harry is allowed to procrastinate a shade. Some peoople can't accept the inevitable until it smacks them in the face. King Canute's followers thought he could do no wrong until he nearly drowned himself.

I’ve just read the article and while accepting that there will be interest, George also seems confident the Levi will stay with us. Also there’s no mention of any specific interest as yet. You may accuse me of not wanting to accept the truth but all I see is a massive reinterpretation of an article in Kent Online. I didn't say anything about you not wanting to accept the truth. You've just made that up ! You want to believe that Levi will still be with us into the New Year and beyond. I hope he does too but believing that he will remain is a different matter. Whatever opportunities come his way he will have deserved.

Whether you meant it or not the implication was that it was inevitable. That’s what I was disagreeing with.

Having said all of this, I don't remember last years top scorers in the NLS moving mid-season. I know Ebbsfleet were going to keep Poleon as they were already up by Christmas but no others really moved. I think people might be worried for no reason. This is a very different situation to Poleon at Ebbsfleet last season, Poleon was 29 and had already had many chances in the Football League. Levi is just 22 and in the form of his life, league clubs will be interested in that because they will feel at his age he has a lot of time to progress and hes not going to be expensive to sign.

If he goes we want 6 figures + minimum 20% sell on clause.

Yeah no more selling players off cheap a la Chris Smalling, Joe Piggott. 150k minimum.

If he goes we want 6 figures + minimum 20% sell on clause. Agree. But that means selling him soon. We won't get a penny for him at the end of the season, and there's no way that his agent is going to let him extend his contract. Realistically, if he keeps scoring goals, he's gone - it's just a matter of time. Right now, our prioprity is to start looking for a replacement, or somehow get some of the other players scoring - otherwise we're going to drop like a stone once he does go.

If he decides to stay then his agent won’t have any say in it. George says he’s happy here and has a plan for his development. Far better to stay here and play than go somewhere else and play under23s or sit on the bench.

Deciding to stay just isn't going to happen.
If Levi is offered a 300% or 400% pay rise with a bigger club at a higher level, how long do you think it will take him to move ?
Better to sit here is only an option if you are thinking - what's best for the supporters and the club ?
Levi, bless him, will be thinking 'what's best for me' ?

Let’s not count any chickens In this day and age when players are going for absurd fees we should,if the need arises, demand silly money for the man, some rich Knobhead will pay it.

If we get 50k we've done well.
No one is going to pay 100-150k for a National South player.

Or he’ll see out his contract and we will get nothing.
Which is fine by me if he has scored a ton of goals and helped us have a great season.
The days of clubs owning players forever are long gone.

Wouldn’t we get something anyway (tribunal ?) because of him being less than 23 years old ? I thought there was an age threshold ?

I think he will stay. If another club’s send a scout to check him out, what will they see? A tall, gangly guy who looks anything but a footballer! Whoever scouted him for us must have second sight.
