Once again we seem to be blighted by injuries and I have to wonder what percentage of blame the 3G pitch carries. We train on it for 3 days a week and it must take its toll on even the fittest of players and it must be like heaven when we are away on a grass surface. You're right - let's go back to the grass pitch we had when we got promoted three times in four seasons. Or the one we had when we won the NS...

I agree with you jdl. A bit OTT but getting the enthusiasm to watch the team at present is notceasy. Yes we are in the play-off places. Yes we defend well. Yes we work hard. Yes we've got the points in the board. But most of the time our football is dull.

When we got promoted three times in 4 seasons our players were part-time therefore did not put in as many hours on a 3G surface as our full time players do and I don't remember us having so many injuries. Were we full time when we won the NLS? I honestly cannot remember. I know there is no point going back to grass especially with the weather we are having. I don't know how bad its been in Maidstone but without the new 3G pitch at Tonbridge they would be lucky to play again this year and winter hasn't got here yet.

Woking were still playing for 0-0 even when we were four up. That will probably come as an even greater surprise to Woking than it did to me!

I get pissed off with all this "winning is all that matters", "football is a points game", etc, etc. Of course, it's true, but it's like saying life is just about staying alive as long as possible. What's the f**king point?? Anyone who saw us last night knows how dire it was, without Levi's goal hanging, we would never have scored and would have thrown yet another three points away. Against a side so poor that you wonder how they haven't been thrown out of the league under the Trades Description Act. Can we play you every week? I won't be watching if we did. Winning is NOT everything - not when you know it was crap and you were lucky to win - not when there was almost no football worth watching - not when you know that if they play like that against almost any other side, we're fucked. We should have destroyed Dover, we all know that - so why settle for just the three points? We were crap. We ARE crap. Anyone who enjoys that needs to see an analyst pretty pronto. We also should have won those three games we drew. Yeovil are already over the hill and far away, but with another six points we'd still be in contention. Even more so, if we knew how to defend set pieces... George has recruited some excellent players, we've got one on the best squads in the league. And, after a wobbly start, he had them playing well together and looking like they could only get better. But, for some reason, it's stalled and now the end result is strangely less than the sum of the parts. And, quite frankly, it isn't worth watching. We need to get the punters through the turnstiles to survive, and we're not going to do that playing like this. Well said JDL As diehard fans we go to watch our team however they play and always happy to win but as entertainment and good football what the team delivers is very dull indeed and very uninspiring. Would I be happier mid table losing a few but having characters in the team and patches of exciting football I think I would as play offs are a lottery and are we really ready to go back into NL?

This team is still work in progress. They will get better, especially when we get a few back fit. In the meantime I’m happy to put up with a few dull, uninspired performances as long as we keep picking up points.
As poor as we’ve been we’re still 5th and despite conceding a hatful at Hampton, still have the best defensive record in the division.

George has had to start again and there has been a slow, but patient build towards a semi-decent team. True we are probably missing an out and out playmaker in midfield but we are solid and, Hampton aside, quite difficult to beat. We have strikers that seem to be getting on the score sheet regularly. This is just life in non-league football and maybe 'premiership-style supporters' need to temper their expectations a little. After the disaster of last season, we maybe need a season of mid-table. I'm quite enjoying the season so far, even though, like others, I can find us a bit pedestrian.

Defensively inclined, hard working, well organised, hard to beat, plenty of graft, winning more than we lose but sadly just feels a bit flat, dull and lacking excitement. Hopefully George will be able to introduce more attacking flair as we progress further into the season.

Hopefully George will be able to introduce more attacking flair as we progress further into the season. We are very much defensively inclined but what would you expect from a manager who spent 20 years as a defender,it's what he knows best. I think the better football will arrive sooner rather than later. I am a little pissed off at the reliance on computers to decide whether a player should be picked or not as in the case of Amantchi, he is a good striker, our best striker not f**king Pacman. If computers rule the day then surely we'd be better off with the Super Mario Brothers in charge and not George.

What is so ruddy special about Amantchi, anyway?? If he can't play 90+ minutes once or twice a week without being hospitalised, why is he playing at this level?
