Jay Saunders, our most successful manager since reforming, was only ever on a one year rolling contract so not anticipating anyone getting more than 2 years, whoever they are. George seems to be starting on almost the same basis as Jay, taking over a failing team with a brief to rebuild for next season. After that we'll have to wait and see.

Got the job for life then, after which his heir takes over?

Hysteria. Old fashioned term for disease of the nervous system. So nervous laughter. Glad you agree. I've sort of lost interest in who you were attacking for offering an opinion on the team that differed from yours.

Tbh I have found it disappointing to read posts from supporters critcising George for in effect raising team morale and motivation.
I guess because football is seen as a results business, thats all that matters, 'win matches' or 'go to hell'.
Now that George has got a contract for next season, it would be nice if we all got behind him and the team.
Rather than this endless sniping and back-biting.
George is going to do things his way and the owners have seen enough to put their trust in him.
For God's sake, even the most miserable, moany, pessimistic and down-beat supporter (namely swordy) has given George his backing.
Is it too much to ask for all of us to do the same ?

Just because I don’t agree with the appt of course I want him to succeed. I am a stones supporter. I would be very surprised/disappointed if others don’t feel the same.

Nobody should be above criticism. We all want his team to do well, but if someone sees something they think is wrong, then (within reason), they are entitled to say so - though the so called keyboard warriors need to look in the mirror from time to time. While not convinced about George thus far, reality resumes from the start of next season, in a very different league and that is when he should be judged, not now.

"Lucked out massively with Jay"?? Is this the same Jay, who, with no previous experience, gave us three promotions in 4 seasons and then kept us in the NL for 2 seasons (a much better record than the Clown and Hak)? Are you somehow thinking lucked out means the opposite to what it actually does.

Are you somehow thinking lucked out means the opposite to what it actually does. Clearly I am! For nearly 70 years, I've always assumed it meant 'had bad luck'. I'd like to know the logic of it meaning the opposite - surely it should be 'lucked in'?!

If we draw one or two and lose the rest of our games, does George survive or are we just writing this season off?
Notice Ryan Gordon has been given the elbow. Not against GE making his decisions but surely you do this in person and not on the phone

Yeah but he can still be sacked if his record is 1 win in 30 or what ever it would be
