How is this for a rumour, Hakan Heyrettin is favourite for the Folkestone job following Cugleys departure. 🤣 Wasn't aware there was a vacancy. In the press release it states Roland Edge has been appointed Head Coach till the end of the season. While Cugley focuses on his Director role.

Just as an aside, no question you have been one of the best sides we have played. Look nailed on for the play-offs. Very well supported too. The lay-out of the ground means segregation is a pain in the neck. Doesn work great. Its a necessary must for the 'big matches' sadly. Thanks. Appreciate the kind words. We have finally started to play some really good football.

That was your weakened team? Oh joy really looking forward to the game at yours now! 😂😂 The game will be switched to the Gallagher as HMRC seize Roots Hall for payment of unpaid taxes🤣🤣 Arguably yeah. Our captain and left back is injured. Our first choice keeper is injured. The keeper that played last night is only 19. Mooney who is a very attacking midfielder is injured and was young NL player of the year last year. Up top we still have Hyde,Murphy and Cardwell coming back to fitness. Personally I really like Chris Wreh who is the son of the ex arsenal player of the same name. He is fantastic and glad he scored as he does so much for the team. I thought your right winger (blonde hair) had something about him.

Attended last night and was obviously pleased with the Southend performance. Your side are not the worst we have played this season. Torquay and scunthorpe were far worse and Torquay beat us somehow in a smash and grab. Quite a tidy little ground and a decent away day. I'm not sure why they have a load of chavvy youth right next to the away fans as it was a recipe for our own chavvy youth to have a go. As for the stewards just trying to randomly pull people out, it was never going to end well. I honestly thought your players kept going right until the very end. And were a credit to you. We are starting to build a really good side. We have the best defence in the league and but for the wood work, you would have breached it. I'm sure you will pick up points against those in and around the bottom of the table. We had arguably a weaker side out last night due to several key injuries but felt that we always looked in control and scored some good goals at good times. All the best for the season and hope to see you all at roots hall backing your team. Very nice of you. and, yes, we did run and kick a lot (once you were 2 up), but I'm afraid we all know what we saw out there - one team on the edge of the play-offs and one deep in the shite. Good luck with the rest of the season (apart from the obvious game) - here's to you knocking Wrexham (or Boring Wood) out of the play-offs!

Lomas Listed is an unusual name for a player. I once knew a player who was only 3ft 6"tall who almost won player of the season he was Short Listed😁

Not being there last night I cannot comment on team or individual performances but I would like to ask those who want 10 players out and new blood in how that can be done with all the players on contract that I assume we have to honour for the season. I'll admit I don't understand such things, can we get rid of them outside the transfer window? Does the transfer window even affect us? If the players are not good enough for a team that lies 2nd bottom then who wants them? Can clubs from lower leagues afford the full time money that we are paying the players? Why would so called professionals drop a league and take a pay cut when they can sit on our bench,do nothing and get good money? Are we now paying the financial penalty for turning professional and is it time to pull the plug on professionalism and revert back to semi pro status? Without an influx of serious money we are and doubtlessly always will be a lower midtable side at best, its obvious that money will not arrive from the current owners so is throwing good money at a club to continually finish bottom half a good or even feasible way forward? Lots of questions very few answers perhaps some of you can answer some of them. There are 2 solutions that come to mind. If another team want one of our players they could go on loan until the transfer window opens or the club could reach an agreement with the player to pay up or terminate his contract and he would then be free to choose another club as a free agent.

It's a long season but we have strength in depth. I fancy us for the play offs but it's all such a lottery in this division. We have two more away games on the bounce and then the league leaders Notts county at home. Beat them and I'll start believing. I saw enough from your boys last night to suggest you can climb away from trouble but no doubt it will be a slog. Genuinely all the best. Pop into the railway pub when you visit roots hall.

Funnily, I obviously didn't think it was great but it wasn't absolutely terrible - Barham should have done better at least twice in the first half and there was plenty of crosses in the box in the second half. However, by then it was all a little late. I can't say also that certain players were terrible either, other than Alaibi who plays the game about five seconds after everyone else - he just never seems to anticpate anything, always on his heels. It's the first time I've seen Barkers and you do think is he really any better than what we have. As for the others, there is a noticeable lack of confidence in some and Booty looks frustrated - the long punt up the field when we had no one in their half was bizarre. Corne looks frustrated with everything around him as well but although I think he's good enough for this level, he's up against much better players. Hoyte does look like he's struggling - before the season I would have put him the category of players who may be alright in the NL but it was by no means certain. Having seen him in various games now I would say that he can't cut it, although Bridge was a good player against him. All in all, it looks bleak. If we bring in more players then we're entering HW territory with never the same team appearing twice but we do need something else because beyond Luque this is it really. These players have to be experienced at this level though - JS turned the first season around by doing this with Stuart Lewis, Reece Prestedge, DSY, etc. not bringing in another loanee who's managed 20 games in five years.
Wasn't that season turned around when Joe Piggott joined (Ref. JDL chart)? And the following season went off the rails when he left for greener pastures? The take away from that is we need a good NL or better striker or two (and Alabi isn't the answer).
As I have said before we have brought in no upgrades from last season's squad. With injuries and departures we are now arguably a worse team (with the jury out on SWJ until he plays but he was possibly only ever cover for Luque).

You must also remember we only got Luque because Weymouth, who were bottom 4 in the NL at the time, didn't rate him and Luque couldn't get in their side. He is basically unproven at this level and may not be such a threat especially after a serious injury such as his.

With gloom and despondency all over the place and the team's long running dismal form driving us to dispair, that's just what we wanted to be reminded about.
We had just this glimmer of hope, albeit someway off in the distance, but you know how to put the knife in where it hurts. Thanks swordy, really appreciated.

Be surprised if he plays this season anyway. Let him rest and lead us to glory and promotion again next season, should we go down that is.😁
