Tone of the anti-owner sentiment on here is a bit OTT. It's not like Bill and Terry are going to be rubbing their hands at ways to piss their own fans off. Credit them with some intelligence!

All ticket for a midweek game where people have to go to the office to watch a team struggling. Plus extra police costs. I'd expect season's lowest gate and club making a loss on this one. I didnt know Saffend had a reputation for trouble??

We have the facilities to sell tickets online and have done so successfully in the past so why are we still operating ticket sales like it's still the 90's? I'm away for this one, but if I were here and would want to go it would mean a train to Maidstone on a Sunday morning (I, like a lot of others, work so a midweek trip is completely off the cards).
If they're going to make these games all ticket: A) Make the decision well in advance so people can buy the tickets at home games B) Make online ticket sales an option. It just isn't viable to make a trip to Maidstone and back just to get a ticket, only to spend the money again travelling 48 hours later for the actual game. C) If the purpose is so Southend don't buy tickets in the home end, impose a postcode + bank card check like many others have done to us in the past (Dorking, Ebbsfleet, even Hendon have done it to us recently).

Why don't we do the whole Vic Jobson and demand identity cards. There is no leeway for the casual supporter to decide a few hours in advance that he wants to attend. The lads in the pub cant just say "come on boys let's go and watch the football"Any potential groundhoppers won't bother. People like myself who live well away from the ground would have to make trips to the ground in advance and for many it's a fair trip and lots of wasted petrol. Then of course you buy your ticket in advance and they announce a rail strike or bus strike which means you cannot get there, would the club reimburse you your £19? Would they f**k!. And then having done all this and secured your ticket, you turn up and see a pile of shit like last weekend and you wonder why you bothered. To me it just adds another 4+ games that I cannot and will not attend. If they make every game all ticket in the future then I will cut my ties with the club once and for all as I don't need the hassle. Bill,if you are reading this, you have got it all WRONG and this will he the first nail in our coffin.🤬

Given the previous ability to buy tickets online, I will be very disappointed if we can't do it this season. As others have said, the inconvenience to fans is significant.

They are probably trying to avoid paying someone like Eventbrite a commission for organising it.If the club is in financial doo-doos i don't think making it all ticket will help matters one little bit. What has happened to Olivers blog to explain matters, did I miss it?

Surely the aim should be to make it easier to get a ticket and spend money. Gravesend made this mistake last season when game v the Stones was all ticket. Result was a poor crowd and lost revenue.

Think this could either be very poorly attended or they'll panic and find a way to sell tickets online. I can't be bothered to spend money coming over to simply buy a ticket when we're only playing Southend. If I bought the match ticket as well as 2x return train tickets, I'm looking at nearly £50! As Swordy says, we'll only get pumped 5-0 for the privilege so really not too enthusiastic.
Frustrating. Gone up a level but everything else this season feels like it's taken a step backwards.

Well I can’t wait. They’re only 5 points above us in the league, so we can hope for something from this game. Plus a decent away support. Just hope our youth club don’t act like twats and get themselves beaten up. Should put Southend fans in the town end and get a great home atmosphere going.

Evening.
It sounds like your club is run almost as badly as ours.
Our fans also have no option to buy online and our fans have gone on the turn as well.
We've travelled well this season I'd expect our allocation to be gone very quickly.
Hopefully I will be able to get along. Any chance ohr allocation may be increased if we sell out.
Spent a lot of my youth near Maidstone as family had a boat at Allington lock. Good old days on the river and Maidstone Market.
Not sure where we have this reputation of being a trouble side. Like all clubs. We have a few dickheads but most of us are pretty decent.
Where is best to go pre match for a pint?
All the best
