It would help if Hak could be a lot more upbeat and motivational in his club tv interviews. They should def be both before and after matches in any case. Recently all we see and hear is a disconsolate figure, sounding fed up and depressed. Hardly the stuff to encourage us supporters

That’s OK, like most forums we're a bunch of old men who like to moan about everything. What’s your dream pub? I’m sure there will be a good fit somewhere in Maidstone. No worries it's the same on Shrimperzone (our forum) or Shrimpermoan as most like to call it. Tbh any pub that has some decent pale ales and maybe some food would be good for me.

All ticket for a midweek game where people have to go to the office to watch a team struggling. Plus extra police costs. I'd expect season's lowest gate and club making a loss on this one. I didnt know Saffend had a reputation for trouble?? I see Southend have been allocated 500 tickets. If you count all the season ticket holders and those that can be asked to go to the ground for an evening game ticket then I would expect a crowd of about 1700. Absolute own goal in my opinion.

Is 500 the usual allocation? I would expect those to be sold in very quick time. They are only on sale to season card holders so will be a it of scramble. Shame you can't offer more.

Its an odd one. The club normally only does 3/4 all ticket matches over a season. Average matches are 2,000 below capacity. Evening matches notmally 10% less than Saturdays. Team not doing well so only hard core support from Stones. Maybe 2,000 home supporters including sth's some of whom wont be there. Could easily have offered you more although sharing the same stand with our young supporters (with netting inbetween) can be an issue.

No worries it's the same on Shrimperzone (our forum) or Shrimpermoan as most like to call it. Tbh any pub that has some decent pale ales and maybe some food would be good for me. There is a whole thread on this forum talking about the merits and downfalls of each pub in Maidstone, of which there are many. The basic run down, however, is: Closest Hare and hounds or dragoon, I don't think either are widely used by supporters. Cheap and still close Wetherspoons, society rooms (also known as the glass House) 5 min slow walk to ground, popular pre match and fairly standard 'spoons Real ale Flower pot is closest and does largers as well, similar distance as glass House. Rifle volunteers, maybe 15 min walk, local well kept ale Cellars, again maybe 15 min walk, loads of real ale and ciders. Not as easy to find closer to Maidstone west station. Add the Duke of Marlborough as a fairly standard pub that's popular pre match, maybe 10 min walk. As I say, this doesn't come close to covering all the pubs and I'm sure others will find a reason to disagree with my selection so I'll repeat myself and say have a look through the dedicated post on Maidstone pubs. Enjoy your visit

Here we go. Club turning away maybe 200/300 away support and then making life difficult for home suppport, losing another few hundred. Whatever, I'm not going to moan !

And if they'd extended the away zone and sold another 200 tickets to away fans you'd have moaned about that as well. There's just no pleasing some people.

The Druids does a standard Greene King menu and beer. Across the road is the Market House which has more upmarket food but Shepherd Neame beer. Drakes is olde worlde and has St Austell beers and food offering. As an outside bet, newly opened Craft Brewed has a range of craft beers with basic food and sofas upstairs. The citra milkshake IPA was very pleasing.

Whoever decided making beer taste citrusy was a good idea? I now avoid Adnam's Ghost Ship, although a few years ago I drank enough of it in Southwold to get free tickets to Newmarket races when Adnams were the sponsors. My first ever race meeting, I bet on every race (modestly), and I came away with a profit of £80!

My first ever race meeting, I bet on every race (modestly), and I came away with a profit of £80! It's no better or worse than dozens of similar beers. Spitfire, Doombar, Old Speckled Hen, Ghost Ship all brewed to appeal to a mass market dominated by crap lagers, and unfortunately the only beers that most pubs stock. I'll drink them if that's all there is but most brewers do far better ales. Adnams Broadside, Shepherd Neame Bishops Finger, Sharps Proper Job, but you're generally limited to buying them bottled in supermarkets, or hunting out pubs like the flowerpot who steer away from the mainstream.

What would you have done ? The problem is not it’s all ticket. The problem is people having to make the journey to the ground from 10 20 30 miles away or more. I understand online sales could mean away supporters can access home tickets and I understand that’s why that option is off the table. The club must have known this is one of the 4/5 games to be all ticket this season age’s ago. Tickets should have been available to buy for at least the last 3/4 home games.

There is nothing to stop die hard Southend fans driving down and purchasing tickets in the home end if their allocation is sold out,its nothing short of pathetic from the club.
