Don't think anybody wants George to fail, but there are a few that don't think he's qualified for the job.
Tbf I don't know a single supporter who thinks that, but they do appear from time to time in social media.
Pretty sure 95%+ of supporters back George.

Hell, Hak seemed to be qualified but last season was horrible. And there were plenty on here questioning George’s ability to recruit and suggesting he shouldn’t have been appointed. I can’t find it now but I even remember a post suggesting we’d be relegated. |

Last season's disaster was far from his fault and its unfair in my opinion to consider that the true, true start of his tenure. He was brought in purely to have someone in post while the ship inevitably sink. Very unfair I think that after he's had the chance to recruit his own players and have a full pre-season, he wins a game at this level straight away and it's still somehow bought back to a negative. Could be a long season if people can't get behind George fully. |

I was just pointing out that Jay and George were both unproven, but now George should be in a much better position than Jay was on day 1 of his reign as manager. You can't say George's time starts now, he has had 6 months to get in to things. So I'm expecting very good things from George and the team this season. Maybe my expectations are too high ? If so, why ? Should we not be able to compete for the championship? |

Yes we should.
If we don't achieve the play-offs then it will have been a very disappointing season.
No guarantees but expectations have to be high.

I put no pressure or expectations on this team. After last season all I ask is to enjoy watching football again. Who wants a repeat of last season if we did go up? Don’t care if I’m in a minority of one.

A totally pointless question but still attracts a handful of 'bites'.
For sure there must be huge numbers of supporters wanting to see our team losing all the time and getting relegated by a country mile.

But have we learnt nothing from the last two times? With our 'live within our means' financial constraints, and the current situation with the board, we'd end up coming straight down again - which I do NOT want to go through again. We need a period of consolidation, to get the board issues sorted out and to enable us to go up as a NL-ready side on the pitch. If that takes a few seasons in the SL, then so be it. The way we've done it up to now clearly doesn't work - so why keep repeating it? |

I would like to see us stay in this league for a couple of seasons, end up near the play offs and when we're ready financially, go up to the NL. However it doesn't work like that so just enjoying hopefully a better season and what will be, will be.
It would be nice not to be a yo-yo club because doing that the team won't ever be settled, even just to keep a majority of players at the end of a season would be refreshing, but then there will always be players that want to move on.
Oh well, I'll just enjoy and if stressed, I can drink cider, now THAT is a bonus of this league!! 😄
