It has all become a bit of a blur.
In one sense I would def like to see a stable team that the club looks to build on and improve each year.
But season after season we seem to be into re-building mode, that suggest that we havn't got our recruitment right for a while.
Some good players signed up at times over the past 3 or 4 seasons, but too many ordinaries, short termies and sometimes just plain duds.
How the heck are we meant to make up supporters songs about players and the rest when there is so much turn-around.
So difficult to keep up with the revolving door but at the last count I can recall incomings for 21/22 as:
Tom Hadler - Jack Barham - Roarie Deacon - Tushan Deacon - Jake Gallagher - Regan Booty - Reece Grant - Joan Luque (again)
I could easily have missed one or two.
Still, in fairness as you look through the list and their cv's, they look pretty decent and something to look forward to.
Just must be so hard getting everything to fit together, let alone play well, when most of the team hardly know each other/
Over to you Hak and very best of luck (still hope you can recruit another centre back and striker)

In all fairness, Hak has made some pretty good signings. Still no news about Big George. No turning the clock back, but it would be nice if we could look to a future where the nucleus of the team remained similar from one season to the next.

I just assumed the annual rebuild was normal for this level. Sign some young pro rejects with potential, add in a few who didn’t work out at neighbouring clubs but might come good, along with a few old bruisers looking for one last payday.

Perhaps it is the new normal, rather than looking back through the old rose tinted specs. After all we were only in the NLS for one season in those JS1 halcyon days of yesteryear.

According to Oliver on the next Stones Aged podcast (out tomorrow) we are still in negotiations with Big George.

I’m probably wrong, but I think we have signed three left midfielders in Luque, Grant and Deacon 🤔 Pretty short on strikers and centre backs. Looking forward to seeing who comes next!
I think Dartford will run away with the title and we shall be in the playoff mix all being well.

At least we appear to be making signings fairly early which to me indicates that these players were those targeted by the management. In previous seasons we seemed to sign players late which seems to mean that they were players who hadn't been signed by other clubs as first choices. To me this could mean were are trying to make a serious challenge to The likes of Dartford, Ebbsfleet and Dorking. Really looking forward the this season especially if we can sign another recognised goal scorer

Sense that maybe we have signed a bit more potential quality this time, also what may be a decent blend of experience from the league above, plus what you hope are some aspiring youngsters. How well they gel together remains to be seen, as will staying as injury free as possible.

I'm not sure if it's sense or hope but yes there do seem to be some quality signings.
Still a couple of gaping holes, most obviously at centre back and an out an out striker/target man.
If Hak does manage to secure a couple more quality signings, I think we can maybe look forward to the season ahead

Every time we make a signing, it fills me with the hope that, this time, we'll really be going places! Unfortunately those places rarely involve upward movement....

Daggers have published their retained list (most of their players) and are offering a contract to Saido Khan.

Not too bothered about Saidou tbh, but good luck to him. Hoping we can get our Scott(CF) and George (CB) signed up in the next few days. They are both big players for the team

I liked Khan but did feel he was a bit of a luxury player. Clever on the ball and capable of turning games 'occasionally', but give me Sam Corne every time for his work rate, consistency and infuence throughout matches. The squad is looking pretty tidy now, although at least 3 further quality signings are needed.

Saidou didn't make the same impression as players like Hines and Loza. Hak's recruits looking mostly very promising.
