Tom is def an upgrade on last season Billy looks an ideal number 2. And that's probably the reason Ravan has gone. I don't imagine he wanted another season as backup keeper.

Scott Rendell is not exactly young and hungry but he is a target man who knows how to fill the onion bag. His record is very good but has he got one more decent season left at this level ? Probably ! Got to sign up a striker, the one major missing part of the jigsaw .......

Yep, probably need to add a couple more extras yet, but the striker role still looks lightweight in terms of a target man. Scott Rendell fits the bill but no indication from sword as to whether the club is still in negotiations. Maybe it will be Scott but whatever, this role/player is the missing link in a squad that is looking better and better.

Another centre half and that could be it as we already have 18 in the squad.

I am afraid I have no news on Scott Rendell but seeing as I have spent the last 10 days getting completely and utterly shitfaced 24 hours a day it's hardly surprising. I didnt even know what I was doing let alone anyone else.

Hak has done well, just a couple more quality signings (striker plus defender) and he will have a full squad.
Looking stronger than ever, an impressive line-up, which as Bill says, is put together to challenge for promotion.
Recruitment is vital and it's nearly job done.
Then comes the harder bit, getting the players motivated, properly fit, gel together and demonstrate the desire to play for the shirt.
But so far so good, enough motivation for me to buy that season ticket.

With George Elokobi and Michael Phillips back, can someone now give a lowdown on the current squad, please? Names and positions, if possible.

We have at least 5 centre midfielders........Corne, Gallagher, Phillips, Odusanya & Booty.
So it's going to be interesting how we manage to give all of them regular game time

Midfield is looking really strong and I expect opne of them will also provide cover for a full back if required.
Still need that goal scoring cf before the season starts.

Seem to remember Phillips could do full back, a bit like BJT, while some of the midfield (Luque maybe), could play up front. Otherwise, the defence picks itself (4 from 5, or even all 5) and not much to choose up front. A major concern in the last few years has been the lack of a Plan B, especially as the season developed and opposition's knew how to stop us playing. Maybe the idea behind a big choice in midfield is to be able to mix up the play - good, as long as whoever is brought on gets at least 20-30 minutes to make a difference.
