Any such restriction is likely to hit the club much harder than most other clubs. Lets hope it doesnt come to that. Most of the time we get fairly close to 50% capacity, so any ruling like 25% would be catastrophic for Stones, whereas plenty of clubs in NLS could live with that, no problem. I would be happy if the Club increased my Season Ticket price substantially for next season only if this is a way of helping the Club survive. Others however may not be happy with this or even be able to afford it.

The answer would be no season tickets immediately but to get fans to register and issue tickets randomly by ballot. We'd all miss out sometimes but arguably fairer?

It's just a matter of principles really,I already think we pay too much to watch football especially at some away grounds, the next league up is even worse. I could just afford a raise in season ticket prices but I wouldn't necessarily buy one.

Season Ticket sales mean that the Club gets money up-front which they will probably need. Also means no handling of cash on the Gates. Maybe Season Tickets could be for every second home game for example. Until the Government comes to a decision then it's really all just guess-work at the moment.
Maybe Away Supporters will not be permitted so that the maximum number of Home Supporters can be accommodated?

The answer would be no season tickets immediately but to get fsns to register and issue tickets randomly by ballot. We'd all miss out sometimes but arguably fairer? If they limit attendance to 1000 then I would happily give the home games a miss as long as it's only for one season as I would still be able to watch some away games which I prefer anyway. Should the rules then change halfway through the season the club can issue half season tickets.

I agree but it would be unfair to penalise fans who cannot afford a ST upfront. If club knows it will get 1200 fans every home game it can budget accordingly. Once limit is lifted season tickets can be sold for the rest of the season?

Restricting the number of away supporters will (possibly/probably) mean that games will have to be all-ticket bought in advance (for home and away fans).
Would also alleviate the need to handle cash at the turnstiles.

Given that many other organisations are asking for advance bookings only, wouldn't be at all surprised if matches are all ticket next season. If tickets are sold on line, then no cash needed. Contactless cards for all hospitality purchases would be sensible too.

There are a few, happily just a few, mates on the forum who think their opinion matters more. Simple ! If you have a different opinion you normally get told "where were you when the club was at Ashford or Sittingbourne". Mr Butler is one of them It is not a matter of people thinking their opinion matters more it's about people thinking which at times you are not very good at . You dont want what is best for the club you want what is best for you ,Dan is the same. I dont know how old either of you are but I would guess at youngish so when we were at Sittingbourne and Ashford you may have been too young to attend,I dont know, perhaps you could enlighten us all by telling us so that in the future old farts like me do not get the wrong impression. No probs, but not that young, 18 as it happens. You can find me with some mates at the top of the Genco. My grandad gives me the same old grief.

Stones may just about get by with attendances around 1500 as a cap but 25% ?
But 25% of what ? I'm guessing our capacity is around 4,200ish

How can they possibly talk about this 25% limit 2 or 3 months before the season even starts? COVID will very probably have disappeared by then, although the doom-mongers don't want to admit it. There's not been a spike in the 2 weeks since people flocked to the beaches / demos; let's see if one comes about from this week's easing of restrictions in shops (more enclosed spaces) or the one in 3 weeks for pubs and restaurants (the same doom-mongers will know that due to evil global warming caused by Boris Johnson, this summer's going to be really hot, so we'll all be in pub gardens not packed indoors). It may well happen, and data on that magic R number still seems pretty flaky but may improve in the next week or so. Rolling average deaths is halving about every 24 or 25 days so in 7 weeks (3 August) we'll be down to maybe 40 deaths a week - and it'll be at a point where these are all happening in care homes and hospitals and / or some geographical hot-spots. And let's face it, more people die of boredom reading JDL and nws posts than that in an average week.

JUST A REMINDER - SOMETIMES THE OLD NEWS IS STILL THE ONLY NEWS
Hakan Hayrettin is set to remain manager of Maidstone United as co-owner Oliver Ash reveals Ibby Akanbi, Ibrahim Olutade, Saidou Khan, Sam Corne and Jake Embery are being kept on Oliver Ash says that Hakan Hayrettin remains the man for them. Ash covered a wide range of subjects in an online interview with the club and he’s keen for manager Hayrettin to build a team for a new season - one that could include some more local faces. Looking local is something Ash is keen on. Maidstone United want manager Hakan Hayrettin to look local when searching for players Picture: "Hakan was talking to players before the lockdown, which put paid to last season and left many uncertainties about the next. We gave him our backing in March and he remains our first choice for manager next season. “He deserves the opportunity to take charge of the team. Time and circumstances will tell what sort of contract deal we can agree in due course. “When Terry and I last met with Hakan, we made it clear we would be keen in principle to add local talent and players with links to the club, where it makes sense. “One or two players (including one old Stones favourite…) have said they would love to come back and play for the Stones. Nothing is definite however, given how little knowledge we have of when and in what shape football might restart.” Most of the club’s contracted players from the now expunged 2019/20 season have now expired. The club have retained five players to date. Those are Ibby Akanbi, Ibrahim Olutade, Saidou Khan, Sam Corne and Jake Embery. Mr Ash said he was unsure about when football would return, although tentatively suggested September or October. Crowd restrictions could include stadiums being limited to 50% capacity, he added. There was also a question mark about whether the club would be going part-time or not. No firm decision has been made but he said: “No definitive decision will be taken on daytime or evening training next season until we know more. “However, it is very likely we will revert to a two-evenings-a-week schedule for financial reasons, possibly adding an optional Monday morning. Time will tell.”
So it seems that those supporters who identified Lee Worgan is not the old Stones favourite likely to return.
The forum pundits are no closer today than a couple of weeks ago, maybe further away.
Guess that 'old' means over 30 years and somebody who made a considerable mark on the club and supporters. Also a sort of a hint from Oliver Ash that there may be another ex Stones too, but who ?
