This must be just another rubbish rumour. We have it on repeated and well informed sources that clubs are shut down and won't be thinking about signing players until we all know the start date of next season.

It's not rubbish Crowman. You must have been reading forum posts insisting that clubs are in hibernation and all player contract talks are off limits. Just a bit worrying that our own club has not 100% come out and confirmed Haks appointment.

All the talk suggests that the team will be going through quite a shake up when the club resurfaces.
Hard to believe nobody is in touch with the current squad, but who ?

It may be that Hak is operating under cover, without a contract, but with a promise by the owners.
But without a single mention from the club about any dealings in or out, hard to be sure about anything.
It could be that nobody is doing anything very much, although the Gallager has reopened.
Perhaps we will hear about Hak soon, no rush, but if we learn of any more player departures, then will they be of accident or design

Presumably if one of our players signed for someone else, we'd hear about it. The fact that we haven't says either nobody wants them, or nobody else is doing much either. Apart from Ryan Johnson, that is ...

We are hearing about it! Jake Cole to Gloucester, Ryan Johnson to Ramsgate are fact not rumour.

Well it seems that we have just lost 2 players in the past week or so, seems a shade careless to me
Bearing in mind that we are told that clubs are all shut down and not doing anything.
Don't be surprised if we hear about more departures over the next couple of weeks either.
Probably to be announced by the clubs that they are joining.
Or is it all fake news ?

It is possible that we are without anybody with his hand on the tiller at present. In which case players will begin to drift away from the Gallagher without any real intention or design On the other hand maybe somebody like Bill or even Hak is in touch with players and telling them their contracts won't be renewed. Oliver Ash did say something like Hak will be offered a new contract, although there seemed to be a suggestion of a few i's to be dotted and t's to be crossed. Maybe Hak is already at the helm, somebody knows.

All our players from last season are not sitting around waiting to play for the Stones next season! The club has announced it has only retained FIVE players.. when contracts for others ended they all became free agents and are rightly looking for deals elsewhere
We have no manager confirmed yet so in limbo a bit. Who knows if Hak will even accept a revised contract or even be offered one?
I think we will hear something from club end of june once it knows what the NL's plans are for next season.

Maybe like many other businesses (certainly mine) the club are waiting to hear the detail about flexible furlough before working out who can do what. That info was supposed to be available last night but it never appeared.

Good luck to the clubs signing players for a season that might not even start this year.

Ryan Johnson one of our better players last year. Shame he has moved on, especially in going to a part time club like Ramsgate and in a lower league. Suggests he is going back to doing whatever he did before joining Stones full time last year and if that means a proper job when many will be on the dole, good luck to him. Opportunities need to be grasped in these difficult times.

Good luck to the clubs signing players for a season that might not even start this year. Apparently the National League plans to restart sometime in September, whether it actually happens is another matter. I've also seen Concord's owner saying the plan is to allow fans, but stadiums will be limited to 25% capacity.

Who knows if Hak will even accept a revised contract or even be offered one? I think we will hear something from club end of june once it knows what the NL's plans are for next season. Exactly! We don't have any players, beyond those few still on contract. The others are no longer Stones players, they have no ties with us and are free agents to take whatever they can get. Maybe the club has asked a few if they'd like to come back, but on what terms? No one even knows when the season will start, or even if there will be a season in any meaningful terms, so how can the club make any sort of even vaguely concrete offer to anyone? Add to that the fact that we are going part-time again, and it's unlikely that any of last season's full-time players will be interested (at the moment, at least). As for Hak, I was under the impression that he was still on contract - although, presumably, the club will be keen to renegotiate that contract, now we're part-time? In short, no one knows nuffink. No one knows when the season will start, what sort of season it will be, what sort of gates we'll get, what impact Covid will have on income, what sort of opportunities there'll be for full-time players at non-league level, etc, etc. And the players themselves will be desperately trying to sort their own lives out. There'll be many fewer opportunities to make a living out of football, so most will be forced to take some other form of employment - and good luck with that, in an economy which has just shrunk by 25%! Hopefully we'll be watching (and enjoying) some sort of football at some point over the winter, but what it will be, and who will be playing it is entirely unknown at the moment. FFS, we still don't even know for sure how the last NL season is being finalised, and it's mid-June!

JDL if nobody known nuffink, how come a club like Ramsgate have made 3 new signings in the past week, including one of our own. Please explain.
