There are two things going on here. We have a team that is clearly not good enough for whatever reason but we have a club that is punching above its weight big time. For me the number of loan players is an issue..when you are in a relegation scrap you dont want to be losing players like Ross 24 hours before a big game because he is not a Stones player. This causes major disruption etc.. at times like this you need players who would shed blood for the Stones. An Alex Flisher, a Tom Mills....a Jack Richards??? Here's hoping we get four more points. If we dont we spend a few weeks fed up then look forward to the new season.. Punching above its weight? With 2400 crowds what utter tripe those sought of comments would expect to see on a Guiseley forum far too many this forum with amber tinted glasses No Amber tinted glasses for me. Just a foot in the real world Glen Tamplin is spending 25k per week on wages at Billericay and they are 2 leagues below us (I am not mystic Meg but he will get fed up/run out of money) If we did that we would be losing 3/4 million pounds per year I for one will take steady progress above 5 minutes of fame all day. Respectfully if you don't want to watch us don't but i will be getting my season ticket

The only way i want Jay out is if he leaves of his own accord. I personally think it is insulting and disrespectful to keep speculating about his future and all it does is create bad feeling He deserves another go next year even if we are relegated He has probably made mistakes but can all his critics say they have never erred? I know that it is a totally different level but if Burnley had sacked their Manager would they be knocking on the door of European football again ? Let the club make the decisions is my take as i am not qualified to suggest anything other than a knee jerk reaction.

We all love and support the club, for all my recent scepticism I still attend as many games as possible home and away and sing along with “some” of the rest of the fans. This forum is to discuss our opionions on everything Maidstone United. If Jay and the players read this it could have a negative affect on them or alternatively a positive one. More likely negative. I still like Jay and want him to succeed, however I’ve tipped over the threshold in believeing Jay can take the club forward. There are other fans that have held that opinion for a long time and in their mind it’s a justified conclusion. There are other fans that still have the faith. My question is when if ever they would pass that threshold themselves? Would it be if we got relegated this year? Would they still think Jay should stay if we dropped out of the National South? I don’t think we will drop out of either, I’m just interested to hear if there is a cut off point where their die hard belief in Jay would end. I’m not trying to evoke a huge reaction or drum up support for the (out camp) I think we all agree we want the team to progress and succeed otherwise we would not be supporters. We want to win games as much as possible and go down fighting if we do lose. Remember if we didn’t care we wouldn’t even be in this forum!

Lewis does run around like an excited puppy and the ball does sometimes ping off him and end up at the feet of the other team, however if you just take a moment to watch Reason off the ball he lumbers around offering nothing! When he has the ball he may find a sideways pass, but for me a midfielder needs more to his game at this level. I don’t think Lewis is integral to our team, but his effort levels as well as being Captain will always get him on the team sheet. Phillips looks like a good mixture of the players we have had over the last few seasons in the middle. He covers the ground like Lewis, tackles hard like Rogers and has silly hair like Brown 😬 If I remember Guiseley I believe they are a tall strong team. Don’t think we will match them in the air so maybe we should leave out the Big boys like Lafeyett and DSY and use players who can run at them like Paxman, Coker and maybe Richards. If we do try something new at least Jay has tried, if I see DSY and Reason on that team sheet again Saturday I will not put myself through the Stones live commantery, I will just be checking twitter occasionally! Let’s hope we play like a team that wants to stay up for the whole game rather then one that is already down! COYS

Wokings down turn in form coincided with them letting their best two players go Joe Ward to Peterborough and Effiong to Ross County You mean like letting Piggott and Hines go? We didn't let Pigs and Hines go They both went to Football league clubs which was probably in their Contracts when they signed for us. If it wasn't they would probably both have signed for another team

I don't know if anyone else knows but there is a promising Dutch sounding geezer playing for Folkestone and banging in goals for fun Surely he is worth a punt

One of the biggest problem this season has been replacing Pigott. Can’t believe Jay keeps picking DSY and hoping he will come good. This is our management. Everyone can see he is not up to it. He must be playing like messi in training to keep being picked. It seems everyone has made mistakes this season that have cost us points. Just think we dropped points when ter Horst missed that open goal and hit the bar, when worgan miskicked and gave the opposition to score in an open goal, worgans stupid parties that land right in front of goal, Finney’s 10 minute madness. They have all cost us points. If we got these points we would of been safe by now. Everyone has to take the blame for this mess but at the end of the day Jay signed these players and picks the line up so unfortunately Jay should get most of the blame. While DSY's lack of goals is a problem we still look a better side with him in the team, but he needs to play alongside a fox in the box to feed off the number of balls he wins for us. I actually think he's better at winning the ball and retaining possession than Lafayette but neither of them ar goal scorers and they are too similar to play together.

Players to keep hold of next year: Goalkeeper - Worgan (only as backup keeper and goalkeeping coach). Defenders - Wynter, Finney, Seth, De Havilland, Midfielders - Lewis, Reason, Phillips Attackers - Lafayette, Richards, Turgott, Coker, Wraight If we are going to go with 3-5-2 or 5-3-2 next season then we need two good full backs who can get good crosses into the box. If we can keep those players above then we definately need a goalkeeper, one more centre back, one more midfielder and strikers who can put the ball in the back of the net. I would be looking at playing wraight up top as he wins most headers and he could be a handful for defenders. Just like Flisher was. I know every one will have different opinions on which players to keep so will be interesting to see who everyone will like to keep hold of for next season. Depending on staying up if course.

Invicta fan here again. Are dogs allowed in your stadium? (No sniggering - genuine question from one of our fans). Sorry no dogs allowed Especially those that are smoking or chewing gum

Depends which sides turn up on the day, and in our case for how long(!). Fancy we could get a draw, but not using my breath. I am not medically trained but would suggest not using your breath is a very dangerous and short lived reaction

I have tried so hard not to comment but I,ve now failed, I find it quite strange that here we are on a 17 game run of defeats we face a game at home to the table toppers, yet as a club we dont expect are players to turn up till about 17.45. That give,s JS to go through team selection,s an tactics, even before they do anything else, then we have to allow time to discuss the opposition then maybe a little light warm up, personally I think we got caught with our pants down, the club need to have players at the club 2-3 hours before kick off, it then becomes the players responsibility to get there. Ok they may all have other job,s but they are all still getting paid by the club, lets see some effort both on an off the pitch. No one can be blamed for these events but we need to put into place a practice to make sure it never happens again. Now the club should be in contact with Macclesfield and tell them they will pay all the costs incurred on Tuesday, not just for the club but all the fans as well. I absolutely agree. Turning up at 17.45 is errrr 2 hours before kick off (wait a minute didn't you say that players should be there 2-3 hours before kick off ?)

Full time is classed as being a minimum of 16 hours a week. Full time football player at Maidstone is three mornings a week then match days and probably in the players contracts about personal training plans. Please get this notion (not just you) out of your head that full time, means that the players will be at the ground all day every day it doesn't mean that, it just means that they are employed by the club for a minimum of 16 hours a week. If we were to force players to turn up at 13:00 for a 19:45 kick off then none of the players on our books currently would still be here, in fact I'll go as far as stating out right that if we did have that type of attitude then the only players who we would be able to bring in would be so out of their depth that we would've conceding double figures every game. The players also work elsewhere as the wages they get from us would not be enough for them to support their families. Some of our fanbase need to wake up and realise that the wages they see splurged across the tabloids as being paid to the premier league primadonnas is worlds away from what our players are paid, hell Alex Sanchez in two months can earn enough money to wipe the debts of Dagenham, Chester and Hartlepool. I am this evening, sad to say an embarrassed Maidstone fan, however the cause of my embarrassment has nothing to do with the club but due to the comments of some of my fellow stones supporters. #SaundersIn we'll follow you mister Saunders, follow you wherever Maidstone play. The last part of your rant sums your embarrassing post up nicely. Black and amber tinted spectacles firmly attached to your head. As posted on the other thread, Macclesfield came down the night before and stayed in a hotel, standard for a club in the National League. I'm firmly in the camp that it was a disgrace that our players failed to turn up to this fixture and I would not be surprised if we had have had to forfeit the match entirely. What do our players do when we have a long trip away North midweek? How did we manage to have a full squad to select from when we played Gateshead away with 72 hours notice? If they can get that entire day off work (whatever they may do for a living) why can the club not insist that they arrive at the ground in good time for each midweek home fixture, of which there are a handful per season? Lessons should be learned from this and Macclesfield fans be granted free entry if this fixture is rearranged as an absolute minimum. A complete shambles that should never have happened.

We deserve relegation. Worst team in the league by miles. I'm sure some glint eyed c**t will accept relegation to the bostik league if meant Saunders was here just so they could say "look how far.." We will be ok After all we have some balanced and very constructive critics who inspire the players with gentle encouragement and an arm round their shoulders
