Only 5 home games remaining now, this will be a tough one with Sutton going well but let's not forget our win at their place, would be happy with another scrappy 1-0 with 2400 in attendance. Temperature expected to plummet on Saturday with possible snow showers.

Depends which sides turn up on the day, and in our case for how long(!). Fancy we could get a draw, but not using my breath.

I can't say we have been playing well recently so I will also go for scrappy win

Jay got the points he wanted last Saturday but not the level of performance that will trouble Sutton. Expect to see some changes with a little more creative and attacking intention. Always good to see Lewis in the starting line up and will not be at all surprised if he is joined by Michael Phillips who seems a high quality signing. Wonder if the team will line up with 4 in midfield (including Reason and Wynter) or will we go more attacking with 3 forwards (DSY, Loza, Coker) ? In Jay we trust

Someone on their forum mentioned eight of the players Sutton had when they beat us two years ago are still with them. www.kentonline.co.uk/maidstone/sport/maidstone-v-sutton-93787/Interesting if true. Very few of our players remain, yet Sutton are top and Maidstone are flirting with relegation for a second season in a row. Maybe getting through so many loanees and short term signings is not the way forward?

Maybe getting through so many loanees and short term signings is not the way forward? My thoughts exactly. Interesting that Jay is now saying the Sutton way is the way to do it - building their team round a core of players who had been at the club for years. Seems perfectly logical to me - constantly going for loanees and 'shop window' players can only ever produce a short-term return. Loath as I am to criticise Jay, I think he got caught up in the 'new team each season' approach that was forced on him as we got promoted so often. Also, I think he looked at the rest of the league and thought (perhaps mistakenly) the key thing was to go 'full-time' and use ex-EFL players. Sutton - who have been in the NL exactly the same length of time as us, let's not forget - did it differently, and successfully.

There might be other reasons, for example a large pool of local players who don't have to struggle over the Dartford Crossing to get to work. Maybe the team partially dismantled when we went full time were only one or two signings from being quite decent. Or maybe it's all the fault of J...no, don't go there. Whatever, we could probably learn a thing or two from Sutton.

Another factor in Sutton's success in the NL undoubtedly comes from their very successful cup run last season. Must have made quite a lot of money from the Arsenal game alone.

Ironically Dos did have a reputation of changing his team on a regular basis He now likes to get his better players on two year contracts.

Very heavy snow in Sutton at the moment. How does it look in Kent?

Lots here and starting to settle. Better hope our players are setting off to the ground pretty soon!
