Just watched the highlights, and we definitely deserved that win! Some our passing was fantastic - their manager said afterwards that they'd played badly, but I think we just played so well we made them look ordinary. Our speed and passing - and determination - shook them up, it wasn't what they were expecting. It rattled them so much that they couldn't score in he proverbial.
I can't see whatever the ref saw (but not the linesman - or anyone else!) that made that goal invalid. One of the great football injustices of our time, especially when you see the build-up. And it all started from Worgan bowling the ball out, instead of just kicking it upfield!
And I don't think you'll see a more clear-cut penalty than the push on DSY. Just how f**king useless was that ref?? The Sutton player must still be wondering how he got away with that.
Should really have been 3-0 (or maybe 3-1, to be charitable). Bring on the Macc!

And talking of "the Macc" - the scoreboard only seems to be able to display names up to 8 characters long. Hence 'The Head', not 'Gateshead', and 'Stones', not 'Maidstone'. Presumably they can reduce the font to fit longer names, but choose not to so it can be easily read.
So what are they going to do for Macclesfield? 'The Macc', or just 'Macc', or maybe even 'Silkmen'??

I worry what happens if we play Wealdstone again, can't have Stones v Stones, although a five letter plural starting with c might be an appropriate nickname for the Stones from North West London.

Not sure we had the board for Boreham Wood, but next season, they will presumbly show Stones v C***s... Would keep a few of our contributors happy, I'm sure.

After today's report from the NHS chief, who alleges his goalie son died recently from inhaling plastic crumb on 3g pitches, Sutton may as well dig up their pitch anyway. The EFL aren't going to change their minds any time soon. Though I rather agree with Gandermonium that the appropriate course of action would be to turn down promotion in order to continue a viable business plan, which is also for the benefit of the community. Better to play at a lower level and have a team to support than......erm, have history repeat itself?

Surprised he can remember the match at all with all that beer! If I drank even half that I'd end up in A&E... The 'pub choice' is basically Union Street!

Would have been funny if the tour had gone to the end of Union Street ( = Queen Anne ). A much changed pub now, porky. Gone are the rainbow flags and dodgy cabaret, now it's all food and family. Rather ironic in these times that the owners spent thousands doing it up just to get rid of the 'gay' image!

Getting back to the game - I loved the 'buzz cut' goal celebration!
I wonder just how much that new look will catch on? Obviously not with DSY, La Fayette or the Mekon - but Worgan with a shaved head?! I can't somehow see Coker and Turgott doing it - although it would save them a few quid!

" down to Muggletons now and nurse a half pint for the whole afternoon" but go for the more expensive option if you think someone else is paying !

Yes we had it, that was the first time the scoreboard was used properly, a 0-4 drubbing. It was very depressing! I think they was called "the wood", slightly more acceptable than your idea.. 😒

Quite right, Annie, we must maintain standards....

Standards? From the girl that sneaked in as my daughter to deny poor ol' Bly Spartans their pound and invaded the pitch at Whitstable as the game was going on. How is that standards?
