I can't see Jay letting too many go as we have a highly talented young squad but as you say, at this level external factors sometimes affect players' decisions due to the extra travelling and training commitments. Personally I'd keep Davies and Banya, not sure why you would put them as doubts. Davies was highly rated at Gillingham before he got an injury. He and Parry are very talented and they will improve. It's a backwards step to let guys like that go. Banya did well I thought, don't forget he was in Fulham's first team squad at one point and he is great cover for the left flank. Playing at a higher level we're going to need real quality cover for all positions and he is ideal for that. it says something about his ability that when we signed him he hadn't played at all for the first couple of months of the season, yet he settled in and impressed almost immediately. I'd say we need another experienced centre-back in the squad and definitely a striker but wholesale changes aren't necessary. Jay will probably do the same as this season, i.e. bring a couple in but then wait and see how players cope with the higher level and shake it up a bit if some aren't performing, as the season progresses. I have a feeling DD might stay now, provided his agent doesn't get silly over a new deal. He has done quite well but not well enough to get himself a move to a football league club in my view. I think from his perspective he'd be better to stay with us and try and show what he can do in the National as it's the perfect shop window for talent. If he's good enough, he'll get his chance higher up the ladder at some point in the future. With DD, now we're at this level and I assume he's on a contract, is it the case that he'd now have to adhere to transfer windows so could only effectively leave in the summer or winter windows? I imagine if someone at league level came in, a mutual agreement would be met to terminate his contract and he could effectively leave whenever...? The problem is we will be restricted by the transfer window, so we need to get it right before the end of Aug, no chance to chop and change before the window re opens.

Havant highlights are up. Couldn't believe Callum Davies miss at the time, and watching now backs that up :-( . Dan Sweeney was very unfortunate to be even booked, never mind sent off. First one he won the ball first, second one, he never touched the 10 . Link here link

So it's behind the people in the Springfield End? Strange choice. The people in the main stand are all blind so won't be able to see it, and nobody in the town end can read. According to Oliver, this is a mobile unit, and just a trial. When we can afford it, it will go at the other end. But, think it would have been better on the river side half way line.

Thought we were excellent until they went down to 10 men, seemed to relax too much. Good performance though in that heat. Having watched the highlights, I'm not sure theirs was a penalty, and even if it was, no way Worgs should have been carded. As for the was it / wasn't it over the lone incident, at the time I thought the ball had crossed the line, but the highlights show it wasn't. One thing the highlights show is how poor the pitch looks in sunlight from high up, compare that to the opening game for our first ever league match on it , in similar weather conditions. :-

That helicopter pilot has some balls. He goes really close to the ground in some of the video. Nice to see they also have a blue scoreboard in the corner of the ground with 0 0 on it, even if the noughts do look a bit square. Think it's a drone rather than a helicopter

I've got a horrible feeling that it's 3 matches so we may have seen the last of him this season Incidentally, why so few posts on this Forum supporting Mills for Player of the Season ? What's he done wrong ? just the one match ban for Tom Thomas Mills Maidstone United 18.04.2015 18.04.2015 1 Read more at www.thefa.com/football-rules-governance/suspensions#rcYD4g74FIgcMHVL.99

Billericay have won 6 league games in a row at home and scored 20 goals in the process, conceding only 2 . Think this will be a very tough game, I'd take a point :-)

Noticed this on Twitter. First I've heard of it though. Would be great to have the fanzine back, in the Ashford days, was often all I went for link

A few weeks ago, we were all laughing at comments on the Margate Facebook page. Unfortunately, it's been made a closed group, but I bet they are having a good laugh at us now.
I can't believe how negative the comments on here are. We are top of the league, 5 points clear, games in hand. Anyone who was at the last few away games will have seen how well we have played (particularly at Wingate).
Yesterday we were poor, but get over it. We didn't lose. Many more twists and turns to come.
COYS !
