Before anyone goes too far with Lewis, it should be remembered how he behaved last time he was here, after he left us for Dover... Remember it was the đ€Ą fault that he left us. Donât think he would have left if Jay was still manager. The clown made half our team leave.

What ? Wait till April and then review. Madness, we must sack the management now, straightaway, without hesitation. Rather strangely, you are the only one actually suggesting this... Really JDL, the only person you say ? You are always right so I must have got the wrong end of the stick again. So what was the point of rockstar's post on this thread ref. 6.41pm yesterday ? "Itâs better to get rid now and get a new manager in and they will have a few months to see who he wants to keep or get rid of. Canât get behind the managers at all".

Although TBF it was Lillis that got us moving forward again in the late 1990s And it was us that got him sacked in the Monks head Snodland before our 3-3 draw, though the dirty deed actually took place in the freemasons arms after the match. Such happy daysđ€Ł Was that the game where they scored late on to go 3-2 up and their manager did the OTT pitch celebrations so when we skipped off up the other end and equalised even later we all ran on the pitch to do OTT celebrations?

I think 61666 was talking about Lewis being involved in a bust up with a fan in the bar after our last home game v Dover, would he want to manage a team where he has had a problem with fans??

I hope the managerial duo are kept on for next season. Last season was the worst in many years on and off the pitch. We lost a manager we respected but had lost his way and put up with a circus until John's return made us all breathe a massive sigh of relief. The chaos that followed Jay and preceded John and Hak's arrival has taken and is still taking time to settle down.
At the start of this season John and Hak had a completely new squad. It would have been amazing if they could have got it all right and they didn't. But, the club is still doing okay and the personnel changes for next season will be much smaller. The management team's knowledge of the existing squad's strengths and weaknesses will assist them in that.
One thing that me proud of the club was that it stayed loyal to Jay when results might have suggested a change should be made. Football is about many things but when you get a manager that really believes in your club and has a record of achievement then you want to think long and hard before deciding the 3G is greener on the other side.

Ihave not forgotten that but answer the question honestly, how many of us on this forum would walk away from people insulting you without reacting? if everyones totally honest there wont be many that would. As for the benefit of the club if we could have him and the passion he showed whilst he played for us that could be a real bonus.

It would be a hard choice for Stu between Spurs or Stones, but no doubt he was one of the good guys.
But agree with jakeyboi, his 'robust' response to insults from a single sort of supporter was well justified

Very sober and wise post, distantfan, with a lot of points that kind of had me agreeing with you, especially in the first and last paragraphs. The problem I have though is the end of the second paragraph as I am not convinced that JS2 and HH have the loyalty or support of the dressing room right now - given body language on the pitch, and the damp squib "late for meetings" fiasco, to prevent many of this squad seeking better opportunities. Also, their tactics right now don't seem to suggest that they DONT know how to get the best out of these players, and I still question Hak's CV as a FT coach. Still twelve matches to go yet, though, so anything can happen. If we won the play offs, we would eat our words and start talking about JS2 and HH as heroes, in the same way that we wanted Jay out when he lost his way and now - with hindsight and after the A-bomb that was the clown - some of us wish JS1 had got more support and not the sack. Hindsight is truly a wonderful thing! Now we have to go and get at least a draw at Weymouth to stop the rot. That's gonna take a superhuman effort after last three, but you never know! COYS!

For the record I was never one of those who wanted Jay out, come to that none of me Stones mates were either. Same again for JS2, needs 2 full seasons to prove his worth. Plenty of good players in this squad, more time, development and some added quality recruits should see us seriously competitive next season. Asking for some patience from supporters seems to be a big ask.

Nick lets take a long look at the teams in this league an at the start of the season everyone must of had us as one of the teams almost certain to be in the play-offs in not then promotion. We have a massive fan base compared to most which generates a healthy income so I think it,s hardly correct that JS an HH be given 2 seasons to make us promotion candidates take into account also that towards the end of last season JS was "away" quite often scouting for new players. We were promised by TC that besides the budget if the right player came along the money would be made available. Yet here we are rapidly approaching the end of the season an we are not in the play-offs are best striker left to join a club lower down in the league than us, an you say we should have time for development. Sadly today,s football does not give you the luxury of time, every one expects there teams to win. We look at the squad put together by JS an HH an maybe half a dozen are worthy of a place the rest are struggling to reach the standards we need. But you still think a man as experienced as JS needs two years to build a decent squad.

You are nearly on the money jakeyboi, I agree pretty much with plenty you say. BUT I do think we have more than just 6 decent players. I would double that number but totally accept that as a team we could and should be putting in better performances and probably have got 10 more points on the board. Your expectations of the team and criticisms of the management duo are fair enough imo, but I guess the main difference is I would cut them more slack and give them longer in the job. I'm guessing the owners are more likely to agree with my take but you can never be sure.
