There is as much chance of Jay coming back as there is of me turning down a pint. Why wouldn't Jay come back? John Still did.

Yes he did ok for us in getting us promoted as far as the NL but once we got amongst the bigger non league clubs we struggled, an do not forget the terrible losing run he had, majority of clubs would never have let him stay so long, that was a mistake by the owners.

What about shamstone for manager ? He knows everything. A class act, just what the club needs.

Assuming the managers get sacked on Monday as requested, can rockstar at least name their expected replacement.

When we were in the NL we struggled every year. The two things JS1 managed to do was induce a decent team spirit and find a player or two that could save us. When we lost those things we went down.
Funny how people moaned that the football wasn't good enough and he needed to go and now people are doing exactly the same thing. To me we are finding our natural level in today's football world. We might have the odd foray into NL but it seems unlikely we will go into FL without major structural change.
Still, I suppose we could just keep sacking managers each time we are not top three. If we do it early enough in March we might just be able to get relegated again. Fab!

It is a fact that since we went full time and sacked Jay we have gone backwards as a club. From one that finished 14th in NL to midtable NLS. Coincidence? Would have happened anyway? Maybe..but the fall has coincided with a loss of soul at the club.
Many old regulars no longer go because the football and the atmosphere is so bad. Poor stewards, awful security AND police for NLS football.. plus segregating decent fans every game.
Why is it no fun watching Maidstone at the moment? That is the big question.
I will continue to support but it reminds me of the depressing times at Ashford.
We need to get the feelgood factor back.

Agree with most of that, wish the club would take on board the points you make, except for the Jay bit.
Spilt milk, however often you say it, is still milk.
We need to look forward not backwards.

Managers get sacked when they are unsuccessful. Fact, because they are the ones who decide which players to buy. They are the ones who pick the sides. They are the ones who choose the tactics and they are the ones who organise training so the team that is put out can put in a decent performance on match days. The latter is where things can and do go wrong from time to time. Southampton let in nine at home v Leicester, but are doing alright now. Bath let in six not long ago, but still seem a decent side. It is when managers and coaches do not learn from their mistakes, or keep on doing the same tactics, even though they don't work, that sides get into trouble. Others sides now know we a very one dimensional. Amaluzor and Kahn the only flair players, so it is fairly easy to mark them out of the game. Our side to side passing, then long ball forward must be the easiest tactic to defend against, especially when there is nobody with any great pace or height to cause problems, while our set pieces must be some of the most inept in the league. Who is responsible for all the above? Management and if they continue to run the side this way, our chances of going anywhere but downwards are nil.

A bit on the harsh side but not too wide of the mark. I still think there's a bit of time to go before the fat lady sings. Still time enough for the team to get it together in which case the management will get the thumbs up at the season's end. After 3 straight defeats the pressure is on and team performaces have to improve and quickly. Supporters react negatively to a poor run of results which is only right and proper but it's how we finish that really matters. Not looking good now but still plenty of matches to go.
