Worner only lost his starting place at Sutton through injury. For me he's about the same level as Worgs. Good shot stopper but doesn't really command his area enough. He's not exactly impressed, though, has he? Flaps and punches, positioning dodgy Nowhere near as solid and reliable as Smith, and, in my view, not as good as Worgan. But if you start from a point of view that everything before you is a mess and you cannot see what you need to see then you allow your own bias to avoid telling you the truth. You look at your centre backs and say they are shiite and then your get 2 older ones in that you don't even start with because they are very slow and have a turning circle slower than the titanic. You pay 24k for a striker that makes JTH look strong and speedy. Then my son you are well and truely fffffffffffffffffff.................

It was interesting to hear him say that he 'thinks' scoring goals in the National League will be as simple as National South. The truth is it is much harder but I guess it helps to have a positive mind-set.

So, highlights available on YouTube and what do we learn? For their first, it appears both defenders in front of the scorer stood off and let him have a pop. Scorcher too, but closing him down could have made all the difference. The second seemed to me as though it went past a forest of players, with Worner unsighted. Hard to tell, without being behind the ball. For their third, Phillips lost the ball, bit it was a suicide pass (Paxman? Apologies if not). When we finally put on some real pressure, they concede two goals. Our other chances not really that clear cut. So, the moral of the story seems to be that we very much need to score first, or at least not let in a second), to get anything from a game. Rocket science it ain't, so go out on Boxing Day and get an early goal has to be the advice. Pussyfoot around and we will only concede, sooner rather than later...

Mystic Meg I'm not but immediately before their second I said we've got too many in the box and it promptly goes to an unmarked Gateshead player just outside the box to bang in.
Unfortunately we've seen that 'style' of defending corners etc too many times recently that a cynic might suggest its a planned team tactic.

I reckon we've seen that style of defending fairly consistently since we went up.

I reckon we've seen that style of defending fairly consistently since we went up. You could be right but I think I've noticed more times recently, on the odd occasion we don't actually concede , where we have no one outside the ball to actually attempt to pass to. With wholesale player changes is the new management tactic or haven't they got around to changing the set play defence position chart in the dressing room yet?

Sham could be the big man we need up top when Cass leaves. Makes sense..ideal player to get on the end of Shields' excellent crosses. Unless you just want Harry to keep bringing in more players. Get Loza back too after he's played against Watford. Providing Shields progresses up the pitch at a slow pace to allow Mullins to keep up. There is then the tricky problem of how to encourage Mullins to challenge for the ball.
