Symptomatic of the times, methinks that various bits of verbal jousting are filling the space normally used for predictions of the team, score and crowd. The calm before the storm? The KM and indeed management have been trying to be positive and the signs are potentially there. Grinding out a draw on Saturday with only ten men, then scoring three after being pegged back twice on Tuesday. Players have put proper shifts in, plus there are several who can come back in from being cuptied. Is this the game when, at long last, things start to go our way in the League? Let's hope so. We don't just need a win (though three points would be welcome however we get them), a solid, comfortable win will make a huge difference. So, 2-0 or 3-1, get the crowd rocking early on and send everyone home happy. Not much to ask? So that's where Dave's black and amber glasses went!

Not sure I can call myself a Geordie as I was brought up in the South of England but I come from a Geordie family so technically I might just get away with it. Me Mum was born in Walker - so I too can claim to have some Geordie blood also.... Can't as my grandfather was from Sunderland.

It is 0840 and as I look out of the window the sky is a pale Amber surely a good sign for today . We will win 2-1 but the growd maybe less than 1900.

As Gateshead will bring so few, just for once it would be nice to lift the tarpaulin. We could share mince pies, Masterbrew and have a kickaround, WW1 no-man's-land style. Maybe even invite them into the Spitfire Lounge.

No on my way to breakfast at the opera house Tun Wells with a beautiful blonde before heading over to the Gallagher.

Never had breakfast there but what a fantastic venue and probably my favourite Whetherspoons. Had meals there a few time before concerts at the Assembly Halls.

WDH scores on Tuesday, but does not even make the bench. Muldoon, sent off Saturday comes back in for Powell. Presumably WDH the unfit? Stones warming up at the EE. A new initiative? First step to it being completely claimed by home fans, hopefully. 15 mins to kick off and not many here. Counted 20 from the Heed.

Cunning plan from the Heed, who are playing all in green and hence are invisible - hopefully to each other as well.

Lots of gaps in the main stand and the EE looks thin + although it's filling up now.
Minutes applause for Overton - quite emotional.
