That would be a return to the past, 2 clubs who are very closely linked, previous incarnations of each club have in their times been called Gateshead and also South Shields I only hope should it happen that it is just a ground share as i would hate to see South Shields swallowed up in another merger of the two. I was born in Gates head but my northern affinities lye with the toon and the mighty Whitley Bay and I would hate it if South Shields lost their identity to the Gates. Well its great to know a fellow Geordie, I was born in Walker and lived in Byker before moving south, still have some family in Gateshead

Just heard the HW team for Saturday. Walton is in goal - as he is superman and can do anything, with Cassidy and Romain at the back because being forwards, they know how to cancel out the Heeds forwards. Worner is in midfield with the secret tactic of a long goalie kick from midfield catching the Heed goalie off his line, and WDH is up front - as he can score - with everyone else interchangeable as either left or right back as those two roles don't need experts in those positions to play them - just like Centre Backs. The Heed will get so confused we will walk rings round them like Iniesta and Messi with a Barca passing game that outdoes even the Cruyff like display against Woking that Nick (and no-one else!)saw. Marvellous! Or we could either hoof or huff and puff our way to a narrow victory in another hard fought game, or we could confuse ourselves, run into each other an get a Bedford Aldershot scoreline against us with Simon Walton swearing at and thrashing his team mates within an inch of their lives for daring to fail his beloved HW! Following HW's Stones is certainly amusing as, like the great Forrest Gump says, you never know what yerr gonna get! Jamie O'Hara? Why not? Has he ever played full back? COYS! Symptomatic of the times, methinks that various bits of verbal jousting are filling the space normally used for predictions of the team, score and crowd. The calm before the storm? The KM and indeed management have been trying to be positive and the signs are potentially there. Grinding out a draw on Saturday with only ten men, then scoring three after being pegged back twice on Tuesday. Players have put proper shifts in, plus there are several who can come back in from being cuptied. Is this the game when, at long last, things start to go our way in the League? Let's hope so. We don't just need a win (though three points would be welcome however we get them), a solid, comfortable win will make a huge difference. So, 2-0 or 3-1, get the crowd rocking early on and send everyone home happy. Not much to ask?
