Home v Truro obviously better than an away replay in Barrow, but resources must now be stretched a bit after Saturday. Wonder if/when we will hear about Levi? If Sol is not available, then we really are light up front, though presumably Rush can come straight back after being cup tied and there's Aransibia too, of course - haven't had a penalty for a while. One big positive, among many, from Saturday is that midfielders got both goals, plus Sam Bone certainly likes to have a go when playing midfield. Hopefully he will be on Tuesday, because Greenidge certainly played well in centre defence when he came on and should start. Another option could be to give young Appiah a go up front. He's big and seems to like raiding forwards if he gets the chance. He definitely needs the nickname 'Chariots', by the way.

This could have 'banana skin' written all over it. Post-Cup game, Tuesday, injuries, resting players for the Trophy game...
But, perhaps more importantly, Truro are not the pushover they might look. 3rd plays 20th looks like 3 points in the bag (just like St Albans did!). But Truro are playing pretty well at the moment - they've won their last two, and on 4 game form, they are 14th with 6 points (LLWW). We are 4th on form, but only 3 points better off (WWLW). Also, their poor league position is a little false - they have 2 games in hand over most of those around them, and 6 points would put them comfortably mid-table.
But, realistically, even after Saturday's big game, and with our current injuries, we still have the depth and quality in the squad to win this one. And, after the shock of St Albans, hopefully we have learnt not to take 'easy' games for granted. Unless the wheels have come off at Aveley (they haven't won for 5 games), we should be down to 4th by Tuesday, and with H&R, Torquay and Worthing all playing (and with Bath v Yeovil on Wednesday), we need those three points.
Whatever fun and glory we might have in the Cup and Trophy, when that's all over, it's only the League that counts - we still need to grind out results in 'nothing' games like this, so we end the season in the right place.

Nicely covered your bets in that post JDL - everything from Truro tonking a jaded Stones to us winning comfortably! Good thing too as this game is so difficult to predict - depends upon who plays, who still has their head in the clouds, who is fighting for Georges approval to play in the next round, who has switched off because its only Truro....... ....although I'd like to think George will be pretty tough on the dreamers and shirkers and put out a team that as you say, can grind out a win in the important "nothing" games.

I see that Aveley have signed the young centre forward from Gillingham on loan. He did not make an impression during the month he played for us and signing Rush was certainly an improvement. Sol looks to be out for 4 to 6 weeks with a hamstring injury. Levi hopefully has an impact injury rather than an ankle ligament which might keep him out for a similar time. If both are long term injuries we need to sign at least one forward on loan or permanently and preferably not cup tied or we may have no forwards for the next round.

My attendance prediction streak might come to an end for this one.
Would like to think there will be an FA Cup bounce, but with cold wet weather forecast it could be low again.
As someone said they’re not great but have won a couple and we are now carrying some injuries.
Hard to predict.

Don’t know if anyone records such things, but it feels like we’ve had 90% of possession and passes completed. There is a definite plan.
Can I edit my attendance prediction? Hope season ticket holders and regulars are taken care of for cup tickets.

Generally in control but two pretty hairy moments.
We are trying to win with the minimum of effort I think as we are monopolising the ball. I think we’ll come out second half to try and kill it early and then ease off.

Thought we looked tired especially second half but I don’t think I’ve seen a team as poor defensively as Truro. Almost conceded two own goals and gifted us the second, and never looked like scoring until the ref gave them a soft looking free kick with less than a minute to go. And then strangely booked Sam Corne for time wasting as he waited to take the kickoff while Truro had at least two players in the centre circle.
But then he’d been poor all night and had seemingly forgotten his cards until booking Cippriano for an innocuous challenge having let much worse go for the first 70 minutes. Also booked Greenwich for complaining about a high challenge while totally ignoring worse fouls from Truro.
Overall a poor game but job done. We controlled it without really getting out of second gear, but I think Saturday had taken quite a lot out of us so Truro was probably good opposition to get.

Our midfield tired a lot in the second half and Sole and others were reluctant to get the ball in the box without Amantchi there as a target. So lots of passing backwards and sideways.

Do you remember all the vitriol you got from people who were saying we would get relegated. Thank you for standing up to them on behalf of the silent majority. You are proving them more wrong with every passing week
