One of two things usually happens. Player pushes for the move, or agent pushes for a new contract with more money.
Having done this for Luque (to try and hold on to him) and having their fingers burnt, it’ll be interesting. We do have some pocket money to be fair.

I heard it was Covolan they’re after from someone who probably made it up on the spot.

Yeah that’s the sensible approach. I guess we might get a TV bonus and if we can somehow get a replay and even more likley TV bonus.

If there's any money available, like a previous FA Cup run we should blow it all on Jake Robinson.....

Don’t forget we are covering losses from relegation as well as a new pitch.
We would probably need prize money from progressing to the fourth round plus a decent draw and TV money before making game changing money.

I might be wrong but I can't see the TV companies showing any interest in our match whatsoever. I'm a Stones fan and I'm totally underwhelmed by the draw and struggling to drum up any interest so why on Earth would 70 million other people in this country be interested. A replay may be our only chance but did I not read somewhere a while back that there are no replays from the 3rd round onwards or did I dream that?

With what we’ve won so far, the prize money if we win would more than cover the cost of the pitch so anything else is a bonus. Personally I think there’s a decent chance of us being on TV. Lowest ranked side left in with a decent chance of an upset. What’s not to like for the neutral.

I think it's on the cards but replays are still in place at the moment. I think there is a small chance we will be featured as they do like to put on a game that has some "romance" around it. Port Vale has slightly more romance than Stevenage so will be hoping for them (plus they are weaker opposition). It's such a shame the draw was pretty rubbish. You work so hard to get here and then get stiffed by the football gods. Having said that, we had a good easy draw up to the second round so maybe used our luck up in that way.

I am no betting man or mathematician, but the odds against us getting a 'big' draw must be pretty high. Given that there are probably less than 20 clubs that most fans would consider a really good draw, and we're competing against all the other senior non-league sides, and L1 and L2 to even get that far - and that's not even taking into account the odds of getting through the qualifying rounds. Even Sword might not fancy that!
So, it's not surprising that we've never had a really juicy tie. In the 80s we had Watford, Charlton and Sheffield United, and a few 'lesser' draws, like Reading, Gillingham, Exeter, Exeter and Exeter, which were decent enough draws. We haven't done so well since reforming, but Blackpool, and even MK Dons aren't to be sniffed at. Given that we were playing at a higher level in the 80s, and with much weaker lower FL divisions, I don't think we've done too badly since 2012.

Surely with only 64 teams in the 3rd round, if 20 or so are a decent draw, then we had a 1 in 3(ish) chance of getting one of those. I'd say thats good odds. As it stands, its only ourselves and Eastleigh who are in the 3rd round from outside the football league. Barnet, Alfreton need to win replays to make it through to round 3.

40. Tottenham Hotspur
41. Watford
42. West Bromwich Albion
43. West Ham United
44. Wolverhampton Wanderers
53. Bolton Wanderers
62. Wigan Athletic
Not so good draws:
30. Plymouth Argyle (for the location more than anything, home would have been fine) 46. Morecambe
47. Shrewsbury Town
48. Chesterfield or Leyton Orient
49. Aldershot Town or Stockport County
50. Alfreton Town or Walsall
51. Blackpool or Forest green Rovers

The FGR Blackpool tie could end up being delayed further if Barnsley appeal the FAs decision to allow FGR a replay after fielding an ineligible player. How can they apply different sanctions for the same offence. Oh! Yeah! FGR are owned by a multimillionaire.
