Typical post-Cup, midweek game. With the added zest of an appallingly incompetent ref.
Truro were even worse than I feared. I missed the 95th minute goal, having only a 90 minute bladder, but if it involved a decent shot on goal, it was their only one. There is certainly some crap in the NS this season.
We did just enough to win, but that's about it - entirely forgettable game. Given the appalling turnout, I doubt if there was anyone there who came to watch us after seeing Saturday's game, but if there were, I don't know whether they would have been more puzzled or disappointed.
Let's hope for a lot better on Saturday.

They were as bad as we’ve seen any opponents be for half an hour. They did perk up a bit after that

Attendance given as 1450, but it looked a lot less than that.
I dont know whether its down to the current financial climate or people have just lost interest, but our crowds this season seem to be down quite a bit from our last time at this level.

The “crowd” was about right for a cold, damp Tuesday night home fixture against a team with no away support and not much chance of giving us a good match… and the Stones fans will only make lots of noise when there’s a compelling reason. That has almost always been the case. Last nights game was ok in the first half but really disappointing in the second - according to George E’s video that was because of “mental fatigue” after Saturday.
If that is true, we need to find some more toughness… Hampton would have slaughtered us last night, and we cannot rely on Truro-like opposition after every hard cup match.
Still, 3 points takes us one further step towards Yeovil. Here’s a big question though - where do you folks want to finish this season?

Good to see Rush straight away stepping in to Amanchi's boots, couple of tap ins, so the Stones go marching on!!

I want to finish champions to keep you lot happy then get deducted 20 points for overcharging for chips, mushy peas and gravy so we finish 8th to keep me happy.

Couldn't make it, so can't comment on the low crowd. Having watched Ramsgate in the TV game, it shows the difference a well organised side can have against higher opposition and it seems it was that organisation which also got us through against Truro. However the Luton - Arsenal game also shows such things can be undone, as if we didn't already know! Such things can't always work, but Team George have shown us they really do plan differently for each and every game, which is certainly refreshing after previous seasons. Great to see Rush filling in the goal scoring, but two very unnecessary yellow cards. Hard to work out what the ref was thinking there. As for the idea of next season in the NL, I still think it is the worst of all the leagues. No extra money, but much higher bills, so only the well funded can prosper. A few smaller sides do manage to get by, so am starting to wonder if Team George could actually make a go of it, given the chance. Right now though, the first objective has been ticked off with us still in both (indeed all three) cups, so more than happy for this to continue for at at least another couple of rounds, but who knows?

George said in his post match interview that the club was waiting on LEVI's scan to see where we go next.
My mate spoke directly to Levi last night and he was talking about a FEW WEEKS OFF !!
A rumour this time , but from a high grade and reliable source.
Marc White of Dorking Wanderers fc repute is apparently very interested in our super striker LEVI.
His staff have been looking at him regularly.

I've also heard about the interest from Dorking.
Sounds very credible.
Marc White seems to find the dosh to sign a player just about every month.
If Levi gets the chance to double his money who can blame him !
As for Stones, well we should get a decent pay-day, but not a fortune.
Of course it may not happen, but wishing it doesn't, won't pay the bills.

Of F### off marc white. If he comes in, we better pull his pants down over a price. Otherwise come May, we could very realistically be a league above dorking

I know all the arguments about selling players, etc, but a move to Dorking? Really?
Tiny club, way out of their depth, kept up entirely by White's money. How could it possibly go wrong?
Hopefully, whatever the silly money on offer, Levi knows he's better off here until a decent move comes along.
