He'll never see the money again. It's a side project for the owners wider schemes in the area.

Following the release of these disastrous financial figures Ebbsfleet have decided to make 20 members of staff redundant. The 12 National League refs and 8 linesmen are said to be gutted.

London Resort Compnay Holdings went into administration with £100,000,000 debts recently, but are apply for planning again later this year. Much of that debt must come from paying small businesses well over the odds to move out of the area. If the theme park never gets built, that leaves housing. Can’t see locals or Londoners paying £500,000 for a poky high rise flat in Northfleet. www.kentonline.co.uk/dartford/news/company-behind-2-5bn-theme-park-calls-in-administrators-283986/

Can you imagine trying to sell the concept? Bored with Spain, too hot in Greece? Come and stay in Britain's amazing Swanscombe Peninsular resort!

Agreed, the Swanscombe peninsula development won't happen, its an area of SSSI. What will happen is the Northfleet harbourside development. That has been given the green light, is fully funded and an exciting development for a seriously run down and out area. Our new stadium will also be an events stadium, with a capacity of around 8000 for some pretty serious shows, without the need to haul up to the O2 or the west end . Worth checking it out. www.northfleetharbourside.co.uk/

Is it needed with Bluewater so close. Anyway, all exciting stuff

I understand the stadium will double as an events centre, for pop and rock bands etc . Apart from London stadiums, there is a paucity of medium sized venues in the south east. You have theatres in Dartford, Chatham,Gravesend, Canterbuty, Tonbridge, Maidstone all of which barely hold 1000. OK for smaller shows but there does seem room for a bigger venue, particularly if it is easy to get to and has cheap parking. (The O2 costs £30 to park for 4 hours). It would be great to fill it with Fleet fans, but that is an aspiration and a dream that is a way off. Sharing a venue gives an good income stream, of course. The area is presently an absolute bombsite, truly grotty. It needs scraping off the planet and a complete rebuild, the same as has happened in Rochester.

In a week where at least 2 major shopping centres are being closed and demolished because of lack of use and Internet shopping I would ask if it wise to be building a new one? The Dover Harbour shopping centre is being flattened to make a car park and in tge NE Bltyh shopping centre is also closing for good.

Millwall’s New Den was supposed to hold ten boxing matches a year plus pop concerts. If that was a successful business model, every football club would be doing it. Now imagine their new ground, hemmed in by the highest density housing in England, with no complaints about noise and crowds from neighbours who have just paid £500,000 for their rabbit hutch? Like the theme park, it’s not going to happen.

Not holding my breath re the Swanscombe development (or whatever it's called these days), or even Gravesend's new stadium (haven't we been here before - at east twice??).
But that's probably a good thing. Much as I hate visiting the current ground, there's nothing worse for atmosphere than a small club playing in a big stadium. Compare and contrast 3,000 supporters at JWW with the same number at (say) Barnet or Gateshead.

If you look at Ebbsfleet “Garden City”, this is what Londoners want for their half million from selling their inner city flat. www.rightmove.co.uk/properties/136808069#/?channel=RES_NEWThey don’t want a seventh floor flat next door to a noisy concert venue, with council tenant neighbours transplanted from Barking.

Queens Park fc play at Hampden Park, QOS play in Dumfries.
