Once again, the auditors cast significant doubt on Ebbsfleet United’s ability to continue as a going concern. The auditors also state they did not obtain all the information and explanations necessary for their audit, and were unable to determine whether adequate accounting records has been maintained.

One reason for the increased loss is number of staff have risen from 36 to 50; 25 playing staff, 25 management and administration. Total wage and pensions bill is £1,521,085, which divided by 50 equals £30,421.70 per employee per year.

Mention has been made elsewhere of a charge on the stadium. There is a £1,650,000 loan secured on buildings, fixtures and fittings.

Bit touchy on their forum and there’s no reason to worry about finances. Everyone knows I’m not just a saddo, but also a complete f**king c**t. And the problem with Ebbsfleet’s accounts is Maidstone fans, not an unsustainable business model.

So their overall income was about £750k, which suggests they are spending £2.5 million, or over three times their income, to result in a £1.75 million loss. No wonder we struggle to compete!

Like I e said before, it’s all well and good until the doctor loses Interest or can’t afford to pump in the cash. It’ll be more expensive for him this year.
When he does lose interest someone will either have to pay off his loan or he will have to write it off or convert to shares. Either way, I’d not sleep easy if I were a fan.
They’re not going to become sustainable overnight. They’ll do what Dover have done eventually. I hope it doesn’t cost them the club and hopefully the owner will play with a straight deck.
They’re not the only club doing this

My post has now been accepted on the NL Facebook site and all hell is breaking loose, the Ebbsfleet fans on there seem unworried and see the debts as justifiable.

They’re not the only club doing this This is at least the second time (possibly the third?) in recent years that Northfleet have achieved promotion (or nearly!) after massive 'investment' injections. But each time, the good doctor has got cold feet and withdrawn his support shortly afterwards, and the club has sunk back down to their natural level again. Who amongst us thinks this isn't going to happen again? Never thought I'd write this, but I'm actually starting to feel sorry for Northfleet fans.

Those figures are stunning. I can partly understand the financial brinkmanship played out in the Championship season after season as at least a dozen clubs there think it will be their year to get into the PL, but what is the financial reward for getting into EFL 2? Is it really that significant or worth that level of financial risk?
