Not imo, but he was on the edge which made for an uncomfortable moment. From that point onwards his rapport with the defence was very good, something that has been lacking this season.

There were no appeals at all from Chesterfield players (that i saw anyway) although it looked very close. I think that ref wouldn’t have needed much of an excuse to award them a free kick and send Tom off !

Did Hadler handle the ball outside the area in the mix up with Ellul that nearly gave away an early goal? Just goes to show lack of communication happens with all keepers, not just Mersin. I stand by my view that there's very little to choose between them. I agree maybe it was time for a change but the constant criticism of Mersin on here is totally out of order.

I don’t care who the manager picks; we’re not party to the reasons why. But I don’t like slagging players off on public forums.

The usual rubbish again. Nobody but nobody has slagged Mersin off. Plenty of supporters rate Hadler as the better keeper, including me.

Amazing stuff, trying to find in a players performance that was very nearly faultless.

Some people never let up.
They will be gunning for Hadler now, watch this space.

I never thought Hadler was a World class class keeper who's playing in the wrong club in the wrong league.
I do like him though and he does communicate well with his team-mates.

Like 100% of supporters around me we all thought Tom had a pretty good match. Just like he did throughout most of last season Time to move on

This thread is a good example of why online discussions don’t work

I don't really get this 'don't care' who the manager selects. Many of us do care, we have our favourites, its human nature. As far as the keeper is concerned I always support the guy wearing the jersey. But I have an opinion, like most people. Surely that is what makes this forum work. Personally I found Tom Hadler's performance re-assuring. Its not personal, doesn't mean I'm slagging another player, if I express a preference for one over another.

Not seen the highlights yet, but we sit pretty near the goal and he did handle the ball outside the area - but his feet were still inside. Does that count? I've no idea!

No question the selection of Mersin over Hadler was controversial. Hence the ongoing debate between supporters. The merits of the 2 were discussed at length. Not sure ANYBODY actually rated Mersin the better keeper of the two, although some supporters including Bernie and daveu felt that were pretty equal. In fairness they were more in step with the management team. Its a game of opinions,. Be boring if we all felt the same.
