For those who still find Haks dedication to Yusuf a mystery, some interesting info:
- Yusuf up to this season seems to have only played @30 professional games in the UK in his whole pro career, mainly for Crawley and Dover. Higher leagues, but much fewer games.
- Tommy-Hadler-is our-mate has played at least 94 games for us, Tonbridge, Gloucester and Eastbourne. Lower leagues, but far more experience.
But isnt Yusuf older and wiser and Maidstone's No 1 much younger and wilder?
- Yusuf is 27 and Tom is 26.
Yusuf has let in 15 goals in 5 games since replacing our "lesser experienced and much younger" No1
Yes, Yusuf has made some good saves with his body/feet but he seems incapable of reaching or catching anything with his hands, or positioning himself to be in the right place to reach or catch anything in his hands, and he seems to speak a different language to our back four, especially Cawley and Fowler.
I know this may be to some a broken record, but like many, I just dont get it. We need Hakan to offer more that "Yusuf has more experience in the National League"
Also, Hadler would be just bursting to impress when (hopefully) he is re-instated, and that could be infectious across the team.
I could go on, but best stop there!

All salient points. I am in neither camp at the moment. I thought Hadler was fairly good last season and I think Mersin has done okay this season. Previous experience is of no interest to me.
What I would say is, there is one man who sees both keepers every day, saw a lot of Hadler last season, and a lot of Mersin this season. His job pretty much depends on this decision and others like it. There will be a reason for him to make this call.
It would be easy for a manager to switch keepers after shipping a few, so I wonder why he isn't.
It looks like we have 2 decent number ones and you would expect TH to have a chance soon if not by now already.
There must be more to it. Perhaps an incident, perhaps Hadler delayed signing a new deal trying to get a gig elsewhere, who know.
I do know the Hak is the man with whom the buck stops so there will be a good reason. It won't be out of spite and it won't be due to "experience at NL level".
...and yes, broken record but it is a forum for discussion.

Let it go. Hakan picks the team, not us. We can go on and on about it, or let him do his job.

Let's be honest we could've had Yashin, Banks, Schmeichel, Buffon in their prime and still conceded 4 at Dorking 5 at Wrexham and 4 at Gateshead as our defence gifted them opportunities.

If those 4 defenders made those mistakes against Dorking and Wrexham while playing in front of Peter Schmeichel, they wouldnt be alive to play Gateshead

Whats up ? Are we not allowed to express an opinion anymore ? "Hak knows best so keep yer gob shut" The Tom Hadler thing is a real mystery. His record for Stones is far better

Mersin has done ok. As well as can be expected. Is Hadler the better keeper Yes, imo

How can you be number 1 throughout pretty much all of the matches that counted last season and then get demoted ? Disappointing to say the least

All we hear is that Hak must know best.
But we also have eyes to see.
Tom Hadler performed well thoughout the season.
No inside information but the keeper selection thing is wierd

All I know is the defence looked a lot more comfortable when Hadler was in goal.

Tom Hadler is more confident, a better communicator and has superior kicking and distribution. It matters.

Despite the gosls Mersin concedes, nobody is knocking him and rightly so.
Just seems from the terraces that Hadler is the stronger of the 2 keepers.
Hak knows best but this is the one selection that seriosly bemused supporters (well apart from tinkering with the defence.
