All I know is the defence looked a lot more comfortable when Hadler was in goal. They were playing against PE teachers and postman so they would.

Its a strange one.
There are some supporters who think Mersin has done well in a team that leaks far too many goals
There are others who just cant get over the fact that Hadler was dropped in favour of Mersin.
Raymondo makes a very good point.
I guess we all know we are missing something.

All points above ignore the fact that Fowler looks all at sea at right back, Hoyte not nearly as effective at left-back (offering nothing going forward ) and Ellul and Cawley are far less effective as a centre-back combination.
We also lack a defensive midfield capable of playing at this level.

I think if Hak gets Fowler back in the centre with Ellul and returns Hoyte to right back we won't be having this conversation. Get another left back in on loan I say.

The grand solution that looks so simple.
It all seems so obvious from the terraces.
Strange that Hak hasn't thought of it already.
We can all see and agree what needs to be done.
Maybe following a good read of the forum we will see some inspired changes for Saturday.
This management malarkey can't be too hard.

Most of the teams we have played so far have not beaten us.

I miss the “has Deacon signed yet” days

All I know is the defence looked a lot more comfortable when Hadler was in goal. They were playing in a lower league so not really comparing like for like.

I think the comparison is fair, albeit we are playing against stronger teams now. Even last season the defence looked far less comfortable when Mersin was between the sticks. It was no coincidence that we shipped more goals when he played. This season starts with Mersin playing every match and what do we see ? Exactly the same, defence looks shaky and we start shipping goals by the shedload. Coincidence ? NO ! LOOK AT THE FACTS. You can't avoid them, they are not going away. Sooner or later Tom Hadler will get his place back.

It's true dave, statistics don't lie.
