If survival depends on taking points from clubs near the bottom of the table, this is one we should be hoping to get something from. I like the six game mark; proper form can be measured against real opposition and a chance to reflect on our own progress. No shame losing to Dorking or Wrexham and a few points many didn’t expect. Torquay forum talking about Maidstone being rubbish can only come from those who didn’t watch on Saturday or unaware of last season. Let’s hope opponents keep underestimating little old Maidstone and we build up enough of a cushion for a very tough end of season. Aldershot 1 Maidstone 1, attendance 2263.
Torquay fans looked absolutely stunned second half. I felt quite sorry for them. You come away, your team dominates the first half, you do everything except score - then the second half starts and your goal is under almost constant bombardment. They were basically thinking WTF??
"JDL is quite correct in what he says so best you all apologise to him."
The one problem that may affect us today is gap between games, less than 48 hours recovery after playing on a 3G pitch may be a tough test of our players fitness levels.Though I don't have the facts to hand I think we have always,or nearly always, struggled on a Monday after a Saturday game.
You really are a little ray of sunshine, Sword!
Just stating the truth, just getting Haks excuse on record before he does 😁
OK I’m not liking this. Paid in advance for parking in a car park I cannot find - dead waste of a fiver. Thanks, Aldershot. Then that long uphill walk to the away fans end - on its own, no problem, but finally arrived to find that the sole vendor of hot food is the most expensive and worst in this league… ugh. Aldershot really doesn’t like away fans - ok, “who does?”, but this place makes it too obvious.
Oh yeah, the football - We should be 2-0 ahead by now; one from excellent open play and one from a pen which even Aldershot players would have considered fair - 0-0 does not reflect our performance. Keeping up the work rate and subbing well at or shortly after half time and I can see us winning this. Come on, Maidstone.
