Just going by the Stones live commentary, Aldershot did miss a hell of a lot of chances.
We really do need to tighten things up at the back because a lot of the time at this level we won't get lucky like we did with Torquay & Aldershot. Give a team like Chesterfield, Notts County, Solihull, Boreham Wood, Bromley etc that many opportunities, and we will get punished.

Of course we should enjoy the win and full marks to the team for bouncing back but the number of chances we concede is a concern. The Altrincham game was the same

What a bizarre comment. How many times did he play for us last season.

What a bizarre comment. How many times did he play for us last season. Was thinking the same, and he played very well against Torquay then to follow that up with another decent performance against Aldershot and his first goal for the club. I can only think jdl has him confused with someone else ??

He has been fantastic the last two games and great to have another Maidstone lad in the team.
Re the defence, yes we do need to tighten up,

If and buts ? Its not really meant as criticism but more a constructive and honest comment imo. We conceded 9 goals against Dorking and Wrexham, the majority by slack defending. We could have been dead and buried by half time against the Shots, we were leaking like a sieve in the first half. It was not fantastic goalkeeping alone, def not good defending, we can be thankful that Aldershot couldnt score against an open barn door. Hak and Terry still have some work to do.

A good result without Rory Deacon, amongst others. Rory is always a miss. Reportedly has a sore hamstring. Let's hope its not a tear cause that could take weeks/months to recover.

Yeah missing 6 players and still coming away with 3 points in great.
Deacon, Luque, JBW, Brown, Wanjau-Smith & Ghandour are all players that would be looking to start each game if fully fit, so we really are a weakened side right now.

6 players is a bit strong as being in a starting X1.
Luque we have to forget about for now.
Brown is a long term injury stricken player and although he has plenty of talent, I do worry about his footballing future.
In any event he competes with -JBW FOR LB although would be a handy CB sub.
From the others I think we have a def 2 (Deacon and JBW) and probably WS, but not guaranteed over Pattison.
Ghandour is another player pretty uncertain for 1st choice selection.
Still with something to prove.

Not much credit to the 12th man on Monday. The atmosohere was great and with over 400 Stones in the away end, it was rocking. So much noise. No home advantage for the Shots.

Looking back over the week-end we were more than a shade fortunate not to ship more goals. Neither Torquay or Aldershot will be anywhere near play off contenders but at times they sliced through our defence like a sharp knife through soft butter. Very good goal-keeping, some last ditch defending and seriously poor finishing saved the day. Still looks we could concede plenty against the league's stronger teams.

It won’t say how many chances they missed. That’s the bottom line
