. ... we get Arriva and Nu Venture museum exhibits. I'm sure you meant to say "fascinating heritage examples of vintage urban traction"!

The one size fits all plan for capacities must be a thing for the pilot stages, once individuals, clubs and associations have learnt the lessons they will devolve responsibility as far down as they possibly can. Remember this is an additional requirement to the pre-existing workload. Looking at it selfishly, if we are able to make the 30% thing work well and whoever our COVID Compliance Officer (or whatever) can demonstrate a plan that can go above that figure they will almost certainly get approval.
At the end of the day the answer lies with us and our neighbours. Wash your chuffing hands and keep your freaking distance and full stadiums will return.

It's ridiculous that a club like Whitley Bay fc whose ground capacity is on par with the Gallagher are only allowed 150 paying spectators because the ground grading system allows for a minimum ground capacity of 1000 for the Northern League. This will double to 300 when the 30% rule comes into effect. Whitley's average crowd is around 340. How do the MP's think that 300 in a 4200 capacity ground is economically viable for a club at this level. They may as well just send a wreath now. If only big pharma weren't trying to stop doctors from trialing effective treatments i.e. medicines we could use in combination that are inexpensive , widely available then we might get back to normal.

Things have become even more stupid as AFC Bury are only allowed 300 people to watch them and Radcliffe Borough are allowed 600. Why is this stupid? Answer because Bury groundshare with Radcliffe. Crazy, just crazy.

Crazy, just crazy. Mmm. It's a mystery because on every other level the response to this crisis has been a triumph of lucid, logical thinking.

What happens if we've sold more season tickets than our Covid capacity? Who gets in and who doesn't? Do I get free STV instead???

Lucid, logical thinking ? There was a lack of that going on with those die hard supporters dashing to buy up season tickets following Bill's appeal. Emotion before logic. Thats football supporters for you.

Well, it will mean that those who haven't bought seasons will be left peering through the trees from the riverbank.....

Ahem. To repeat - say we've sold 600 STs, and the authorities (I'm no longer sure which ones) impose a limit of 500 spectators. First come, first served? Refunds? Or just hope that many of us less young ones will probably not want to take the chance once the fabled 'second wave' begins (ETA late September) and won't go - regarding our STs as just a form of donation?

Thats football supporters for you. If footbal suport was based on logic and not emotion, there wouldn't be any. The whole industry is based on a feeling of belonging to 'my' club (which, by definition, is better than 'your' club). Even though the players constantly change, the managers and owners change almost as frequently, and often the club doesn't even stay in your town. Sometimes they even go bust, and yet you 'carry on' supporting a different club, run by different people, playing in a different place (or places!) and with a different name. What exactly is it that you 'belong' to? OK, none of that matters if you're Arsenal or (spit) Chelsea, or that other north-London club whose name escapes me, because you're going to win things occasionally, but most fans support clubs that rarely, if ever, win anything. Why do they do it? Perhaps a question best not asked too forensically...

You would hope the club would not sell more than the current guidelines, people can always buy season tickets later on at a pro - rate price.

Around February, Maidstone were playing so badly it was almost unwatchable - now everyone is clamouring to watch largely the same players (with a couple of the better ones having left). Love is an irrational emotion...

Love is an irrational emotion... Damn good job we're so bloody fickle! Imagine if we behaved entirely logically...
