So looks like the Playoffs in our league will go ahead.
From a neutral point of view who do we want to go up?

Can't remember who played the better football, except it wasn't us! Anyone with low gates and few away fans would probably be a good thing though.

Looking at the ppg table on the OS if we’d had won at Eastbourne we’d have been in the playoffs !
Maybe a good time to put in the most god damn awful performance of the season.

Nothing beats Weymouth away!!! As much as I would like to have gained promotion, can't help thinking it's a blessing that we are not involved. With estimates of between £20,000 to £50,000 to take part. As a club we've been there, done that and got promoted when we wasn't really ready.

And had a perfectly good goal disallowed even if the performance was as equally inept.

I was thinking exactly that this afternoon. A win at Eastbourne and we'd now be contemplating the play-offs - with no manager and only 5 players...

I know I'm just rehashing an old question here, but it really does confuse me. How come Dartford, Bath, etc are still organised enough to take players back for training in July, and play the play-offs a few weeks later, when we, the 'big' club of the NS have no manager (apparently) and only 5 players? I know all the stuff about having to shut down because there was no income, etc, etc - but how come that doesn't seem to apply to at least 6 other clubs?

I read that in the NLN that Gateshead may not play in the playoffs because it would cost clubs £60,000 which they havent got and I suspect other clubs are gambling with money they dont have. If Dartford go up then the gamble is worth it ,if they dont then expect their budget next season to be slashed to take into account the money they gambled away.

I'm guessing (because I have no idea) their out of contract players don't have other clubs yet, but might be willing to play on a game by game basis. No gate money to pay for it; maybe TV? If I was a wealthy chairman, I might gamble on promotion for an outlay of a few grand. Players might have maintained fitness, but are they truly match fit? Good luck to them. Kent needs as many teams at as high a level as possible.

Suspect it is simply a case of if a club was in the play off zone, then they have planned accordingly. Being in no man's land, Maidstone haven't had that problem, which as others have already said is probably a very good thing during these uncertain times.

Want Dartford to go up as they’re a Kent club.
As for their squad, maybe, as they knew they might need to, they extended some contracts. Expensive business not knowing the outcomes though.

Where is this sum of £60,000 coming from and what's it for?

Pretty straightforward...we were never going to play again this season, contracts ended, june would usually be a very quiet time for the club. I will worry if we have still not 'confirmed' our manager by early july.

Tbh it's a bit irksome to discover that a club with half our support and 3rd from bottom, appoint a new manager and end up in the play-offs, just didn't seem too hard for them.
Apparently keeping their players on the books and preparing for the play-offs hasn't been much of a problem either.
Stones on the other hand, with our mega experienced management duo having all the time in the World to plan and improve the team, finished the season in a nose-dive, bottom of the form league and then we go into shut-down.
Just as well we can trust in Hak to revive our fortunes.
