It would be a huge gamble on the owners part to offer Hak the job for another season ! Trouble is Nick, he's already got it, sort of, kind of, so it would be a change of mind on their part to appoint someone else!

Maybe the season breaking up like it did and many long weeks to think about it, perhaps the owners will have second thoughts.
I just hope they do. Hope is what we need right now.

Sadly bbj, you are probably right, well sort of.
No question the owners were mindful to offer the job to Hak.
After all he was part of a 2 season project along with John Still.
But that project is dead and buried, we are now left with the 'Assistant'.
Somebody said you can't compare records bit I think that's rubbish.
Hak is 10 years older than JS1 but stand the records side by side and Jay wins by a country mile.
It doesn't have to be Jay Saunders, but somebody as good is what the club needs.
After another disappointing season, we don't need more or less the same (well less actually)
Easily said I know, it just feels that the owners have taken something of a bruising and are feeling 'better the devil we know'

Listening to the Kent non league podcast Oliver is on there talking about wage caps.
One thing he does say is that Hak isn't comfired as Manager yet. He also mentions the fact they haven't decided weather to go part-time yet. He says there are players they want to bring in that want day time training and there are players they would like that want evening training so it might end up being a mixture of the two.
Not sure how that would work but at least it confirms talks are taking place and nothing is confirmed yet.

So its much the same then.
There's been people assuming that we are going to go evening training but right from the beginning Oliver Ash said it could be a mix of the two.
He also said from the start that they would talk to Hak when they sorted out how things would be run. It always seemed like he would have 1st option but nothing very definite.
Still sort of looks like it will be Hak or it could be Hak, well maybe.

Here's hoping that we may get a more exciting and qualified, possibly younger, manager to bring an exciting (affordable) mix of PT and maybe even still FT local and imported players -i.e from outside Kentish borders-talent. In Oliver we trust!

Oliver is on the case although I'm guessing he hasn't been near the Gallagher these last 10-12 weeks. But like bbj, no question, in Oliver we trust. Hoping some of bbj's wishes come true too.

Hak is a nice fella, but let’s not forget the post match interviews when he just seemed clueless! Jay Saunders knows Kent football inside out and as we know sailed through this league in one attempt with a part time team. We are most likely going part time again and want to sign local players. If you take the emotion out of the situation Saunders is clearly the best person for the job based on his CV. Also the feel good factor would be nice. Jay struggled in the national league, but we stayed in it with him as manager for 2 and a bit years. We are not in the National League, but if we were to get promoted again our best season finish was the season after promotion. I would rather have Steve Watt back than Hak 🤷🏼♂️

What about Sammy Moore as a Kent born manager with a 50% managerial win ratio?

Sammy Moore is an interesting prospect but comes nowhere near the managerial record of Jay Saunders.

At least Sammy Moore hasn't failed as many times as Hak. Just browsed through Hakans record as a manager where he has achieved just one promotion, at 2 levels below NLS. Tbh I don't know why his hat has even been thrown into the ring

Let's be honest, when it comes to a choice between Hak and Jay to take Stones forward based on record, culture fit, history and being an actual fan Jay wins hands down. Hak does not have the job (yet) unless we've missed an announcement about a new contract.
I think it would be a gamble but if the owners are convinced Hak is the best manager available then it's their call as always.

Seems a bit strange at first that posts about Stones next manager are appearing on the NLS play off thread, but maybe not so strange.
