Whats that bird song about sword ? Methinks you maybe a 'glass half-empty' sort of person. Saidou is a class act and I hope we see him back at the Gallagher in black & amber. Let me rephrase it for you. One cracking goal doesnt make him Pele. If he was to score a dozen great goals then he might attract a biggish club. There was talk of him attracting huge sums of money, well COVID 19 will have put paid to that. I too would like to see him play well for us next season if there is a next season but logic dictates he will end up somewhere else. Then again when has logic ever been logical?

Why does logic dictate he wont be with us when he is on contract for the whole of next season ?

Why does logic dictate he wont be with us when he is on contract for the whole of next season ? Because if he is as good as you think he is then surely a club will offer decent money and the owners will snap their hands off?

On a personal level I’d love to see Chris here as I got to know him and his son a few years ago playing cricket with junior at The Mote and he is genuinely a lovely guy. What does the head say? Honestly, I don’t know. Dover fans used to moan about his liking for direct football but it did get results a lot of the time. We’ll see. Chris Kinnear was one of my fave players in black and amber back in the day, but wasn't he interviewed and rejected by Oliver and Terry as he had a big negative about 3G? His chairman at Dover, Jim Parmenter, has always had very strong anti 3G views and he has been very public with them. Chris was always very careful with his words when asked about the subject, I never read or heard any statements from him saying he had a problem with the surface. I very much doubt it would be an issue. If he hated it that much, why would he have even put himself forward for interview? Also, I doubt Oliver and Terry (and Bill) would be so unprofessional as to discuss why any candidates were rejected. It sounds like a fake rumour to me.

Why does logic dictate he wont be with us when he is on contract for the whole of next season ? Because we need to trim the wage bill and any offer for any full time player will be accepted

But he suffered a bad injury and never re-discovered his form. Its a bit like buying and selling in the stock market If you want to lose money, buy at the end of a bull market and sell at the end of a bear market. In other words Saudou isn't going anywhere until he looks the real deal for an EFL club.

No idea wherether or not he was interviewed but I did chat to him inside the Gallagher on a matchday at the time. Pretty obvious he would have been interested but too savvy to confirm one way or another.

Why are you so dismissive of Saidou? The guy is a talent and before his injury plenty of EFL clubs were looking at him and for good reason. Nobody was talking 50k either. He is already on contract for next season and if he rediscovers his early season form, it is a win/win. He hasn't done enough to justify the hype you all give him. He is a good player but he is not a great player. He has made his name with a cracking goal at Blackpool but there is an adage that says that one swallow doesnt make a summer. Kahn has had some very good moments and its not all about that Blackpool goal. For the ten minutes he went all out at Dartford he transformed the game. He has looked a decent player nearly every time i have seen him

Sword, you clearly do not recognise class even when it is displayed right in front of you. Khan may not be the sort of player to win a 'hoof ball contest' and he doesnt exactly 'kick everybody who moves', but he has pace, plenty of skill and flair in bucket loads. I love it when he just turns on the gas and ghosts past players in the middle of the park. But probably not the sort of qualities you appreciate.

No question at times last season we looked pedestrian in midfield, too predictable, sideways passing, nothing inventive and just a bit dull. Fine if that is the sort of football you enjoy. Saidou Khan is different with his trickery, turn of pace, quality on the ball and ability to go past players. Obviously not appreciated by the fans of kick it long and high brigade.

Because we need to trim the wage bill and any offer for any full time player will be accepted Our owners have got too much sense to accept any silly offer to get Khan off the wages bill. Saidou injects quality into team-play which is why I pay my entrance money. Class matters.

Khan is definitely the classiest player in the team but that doesn't make him the best by a distance.

We need to hang onto our best players. Luckily Khan is already signed up for 20/21 season.
