There is indeed a fundamental issue with the Riverside Stand project in that it can't possibly be large enough to bring our ground anywhere close to Football League standard, which kind of makes it pointless at a time when we have enough capacity for the support that wants to watch. If hundreds of thousands were spent building it, that's money that cannot then go towards a big stand at the Town End that could, on its own, bring us up to FL standard. It doesn't make any sort of economic sense to spend money on the Riverside Stand at the moment and I'm sure that is why Oliver and Terry shelved it. Obviously it will one day be a good idea if we're to maximise the capacity of The Gallagher, and also because if we do eventually get to the FL, pitch side standing isn't allowed. Which brings us back to an old problem. The EFL will not sanction 3G pitches. To get promoted we would have to get rid of 3G. We get rid of it and our income gets slashed and if that happens we wont have money to do any improvements let alone build big new stands. That's why we need a new investor, and why the new stand at the Town End needs to have money-making facilities built into the back of it, such as rentable office space, commercial shop units, maybe a gym etc.

Almost £10,000 a week? It does mean not having to rent a training ground and having all teams in one venue, and some rental income. But the EFL sponsorship money would outweigh any lost pitch income. Just look at Conference parachute payments for relegated clubs. Seriously, if it cost £500,000 to install and produced the same annually, we'd have several of them dotted around the area. But getting back on track. Yes, things are much better.

Its a mystery. His 'history' still records him as being a prolific poster who never gives up and does't know when to stop. Is he mates with the 'Administrator' or has he found a way to confound the technology supposedly governing this forum ? We nws hasn't got any mates so we can rule that one out. But if he's engineered a technical tweak, then how and what ? Worryingly, because it means I'm publically acknowledging reading at least one of his recent posts , he did post that he had asked the 'Administrator' to reset the number to zero.
Vaguely recall it was in response to some alleged 'competition' with jdl.
Having admitted my dark secret I'm now off for therapy.
This is truly wonderful! I made one little joke about trying to catch him up, and he's clearly taken it seriously. What a sensitive soul. I'd only found out that I was close to overtaking him a few minutes before that post, when I'd accidentally discovered that you can sort the user stats!

There are lots of things this club needs well before a hugely expensive redevelopment of the TE!

Ooooh, and we remember how well it went the last time a Newcastle businessman got involved ('Newcastle Browns', anyone?)...

You'd be surprised how much room there would be.

There are lots of things this club needs well before a hugely expensive redevelopment of the TE! How about we let the owners decide what the club needs. If they decide we need the town end development and come up with a way to fund it, that trumps anything you might think we need in my opinion.

And how about you pay attention because Terry has already said we need a big stand at that end with facilities in the back. What I 'think' we need is what he's already said we need. Even if Terry hadn't said that, you're allowed to express opinions on this forum and it's my view that is the only way we would be able to complete a facility at The Gallagher that would be suitable for the FL. Frankly it's not rocket science to work it out given the site we have.

Development of the TE is the logical thing to do

In what possible way could I not "let the owners decide"?? You could start an argument in an empty room.

I was responding to JDL's assertion that there are a lot of things the club needs before the town end, so was effectively saying the same as you.
