I sense North Ferriby United will be the whipping boys next season..
There owner has pulled funding/put the club up for sale (The Allam family have been bankrolling them for a few years now) and their manager has just quit to takeover at Halifax....certainly not what you want when going up to a higher league
Incredibly, North Ferriby is just a large village of around 4,000 inhabitants. In all honesty their success is just another example of an unsustainable rise up the leagues due to somebody bankrolling a football club as a hobby.
No, its not the same at all because 150,000 people live in the borough of Maidstone. This has led us to where we are now. You will never make a sustainable National league club with average home gates of 446 (yes, I looked it up).

more this part jayser. bankrolling players and an unsustainable rise up the league which nearly ended us. rather than saving and investing for potential ground.
Indeed. Unfortunately Paul didn't have the means to take us where we needed to go but once we had 'money men' who could bring us home, we were always going to have the fan base to help make the magic happen. North Ferriby don't have that.
Their future looks pretty uncertain in the National league because their official ground capacity is listed as 2,700. I got that from Wikipedia, presumably it's out of date and they scraped the capacity up to the 3,000 requirement but they now, like us, need to get up to 4,000 - if the owners who have put the club up for sale aren't prepared to stump up the cash to do that (and why would they if they want out?), and a buyer for the club can't be found, where do they go after that?
As a buyer, you would always look at a business (even if it is a football club) to see if it has future potential. As they are a village in Yorkshire with an average gate under 450 (could grow a bit next season but to what, maybe 550 - 600 tops) you would wonder who would want to buy in and then spend 600K on a new stand as well.
Love the line about half way down page 2 about how it's an unfair advantage but the next post underneath saying they should get one. Beware southport losing to us at home and rolling out the bs anti 3G bs. Get over it we have this pitch, this pitch will stay and more teams will install them. Bloody northan monkeys we also have floodlights at our ground due to electricity. Don't worry northerners you to will soon be able to see in the dark! No gas req!
