Seem's about right, Wrexham reportedly had a £500k playing budget for the season just ending! Shows what we will need to become competitive. Put another way 5 times the amount £bbsfleet was reported to have had.

i wouldn't be so sure. people knock them for attendance but they get loads of cash from their arsenal deal and renting out the million 3gpitches they have. allegedly really well run behind the scenes. I went there a few seasons ago. Decent ground. I hope that's a midweek fixture so I can go straight from work and then get home easily... but you watch it be on a Saturday, and Gateshead on Tuesday...

Put another way 5 times the amount £bbsfleet was reported to have had. saw this in the comments section of that page, and someone had put up the accounts of york for last year. huge amounts of money involved, and gives us an idea of what we're up against in this league. here's the comment; "Badgers Drift Replying joejamestom 1:26am Mon 25 Apr 16 Accounts for year to 30-Jun-15 Turnover: £2,634,337 Employee costs: £2,157,666 Operating loss: £361,786 Interest: £361,370 Pre-Tax Loss: £723,155 https://companycheck .co.uk/company/04689 338/YORK-CITY-FOOTBA LL-CLUB-LIMITED/fina ncial-accounts Remember, another year's trading ends in just over two months, so financial position will be worse than shown in last published accounts. " note the employee costs, makes ebbsfleet look like paupers.

i see sutton have made their first signing;
Latest News First new face added 16th May 2016
Manager Paul Doswell has made his first addition to his squad in readiness for the National League, signing 27-year-old winger Bradley Hudson-Odoi from Wealdstone, where he was voted Player of the Year last season, scoring fifteen league and cup goals. He was previously with Hereford, Grays amd Metropolitan Police, and represented Ghana at Under 20 level at the 2007 Toulon tournament.
Paul was delighted with the signing. '' He totally fits the type of player I've been looking to sign - young, hungry to succeed and with pace to burn. I watched him many times last season and he was Wealdstone's main attacking threat with some outstanding wing play. He has already played in the Football League for Hereford, and is ambitious to play in the National League and improve his game. He offers great competition to Tom Bolarinwa and Ross Stearn.''
Bradley is also looking forward to joining U's and said: ''Once I knew Paul was interested it was something I really wanted to happen. They were the stand-out team last season, and their attacking style of play with two wingers will really suit my game. I want to keep improving and developing as a player and know that this will happen at Sutton. I also know some of the players and that really helps when settling in to a new club, and they all spoke so highly of the club and the ambition it has. The hard work starts for me now, and I can't wait for pre-season to get started.''
interesting that doswell is bringing in players from the lower level. i thought he'd be adding a few more league players to the ones he already has, especially given their large playing budget.

Do we want the worst full time pros? Sure, their physicality dominates the league but they can't play that well
Or do we want a team that trains when the top non leaguers with decent jobs can join us and ply their trade on a national stage
Personally I would prefer the better players, as said elsewhere history suggests physicality dominates, but I would prefer paying less for a sustainable team with better footballers. We may get muscled out by full timers but I would prefer the better entertainment

I sense North Ferriby United will be the whipping boys next season.. There owner has pulled funding/put the club up for sale (The Allam family have been bankrolling them for a few years now) and their manager has just quit to takeover at Halifax....certainly not what you want when going up to a higher league Incredibly, North Ferriby is just a large village of around 4,000 inhabitants. In all honesty their success is just another example of an unsustainable rise up the leagues due to somebody bankrolling a football club as a hobby.

bit like us under pbb then. No, its not the same at all because 150,000 people live in the borough of Maidstone. This has led us to where we are now. You will never make a sustainable National league club with average home gates of 446 (yes, I looked it up).

just another example of an unsustainable rise up the leagues due to somebody bankrolling a football club as a hobby. more this part jayser. bankrolling players and an unsustainable rise up the league which nearly ended us. rather than saving and investing for potential ground. Indeed. Unfortunately Paul didn't have the means to take us where we needed to go but once we had 'money men' who could bring us home, we were always going to have the fan base to help make the magic happen. North Ferriby don't have that. Their future looks pretty uncertain in the National league because their official ground capacity is listed as 2,700. I got that from Wikipedia, presumably it's out of date and they scraped the capacity up to the 3,000 requirement but they now, like us, need to get up to 4,000 - if the owners who have put the club up for sale aren't prepared to stump up the cash to do that (and why would they if they want out?), and a buyer for the club can't be found, where do they go after that? As a buyer, you would always look at a business (even if it is a football club) to see if it has future potential. As they are a village in Yorkshire with an average gate under 450 (could grow a bit next season but to what, maybe 550 - 600 tops) you would wonder who would want to buy in and then spend 600K on a new stand as well. It will be interesting to see how that pans out.

Just seen this, Defender Tom Bonner is rejoining Dartford from Ebbsfleet, Some say he still hasn't come out of Bobby Joe's pocket.
