If their results are expunged, Sutton (not played them) go 2 points clear of Torquay (who beat them) with a game in hand. Would also be good news for Notts Co and Eastleigh (who lost to them). Didn't Maidstone have something along these lines with Newport County fixtures in the Conference the year we got promoted from the conference - en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1988-89_Football_Conference

The obvious step would be to demote them to Nat S to give 3 22-team divisions for 2021/2. So that won't happen... Then do you expunge their record for this season or keep their 15 results and give say 3-0 wins to the opposition for the 29 games they don't play? Quite probable the NL will expel them altogether, leaving Nat S and Isthmian Prem with an odd number of teams for next season. Meanwhile with another £300,000 being allocated to funding for the Arts - could we argue that our defence is a modern art installation and get a few quid? I would say that the obvious method to deal with Dover due to the lack of promotion & relegation places would be to play the long game by docking them a silly amount of points ensuring relegation is a certainty. Why should the Isthmian League except them unless they need a replacement as some one has to withdraw Not forgetting a hefty fine

I worked with a Welling supporter at the time and remember being given a one man standing ovation on the Monday morning. Kettering, like everyone else, had beaten them so they lost 3pts on us which I remember they weren't best pleased about.

Relegate them to the National league North and ban them fom playing at Crabble for the season with no option of a ground share.

Dropping them into NLS is not really a punishment as they would have probably been relegated anyway. All that does is gets them where they would have ended up but without them having to play any games. I think they will stay in NL with a fine and points deduction for next season or be expelled from the whole NL competition. Time will tell.

If it wasn't for the points situation, I suspect the NL wouldn't do anything, just pretend it didn't happen. But the points have to be sorted out, so I guess they'll just expunge Dover's games. And if that upsets anyone they'll just do what they've done with every other complaint they've had - ignore it.
My favourite outcome would be Sutton winning because of the Dover situation. That, at least, would be interesting to watch, as the fans argue between a promotion none of them every really expected and the need to replace the 3G pitch at a cost that would almost certainly see them relegated the following season.
Not to mention all the Torquay fans jumping up and down at the unfairness of them being 'robbed' of a promotion that none of them really ever expected too.
That's all this season really needs to finish it off - a bit of pointless stupidity right at the end.

And yet Dover fans on twitter will tell you they are a well run club? It's no surprise they are in financial crisis when the chairman's business plan of running the club could be ripped apart by any six year old child in their maths class.

Apparently according to them it's all the fault of Oliver Ash for daring to speak out regards the original funding.

Probably just been listening to their chairman, although astonishing that anyone would actually believe him.

Dover Athletic to accept demotion to NLS Steve Dale to claim Bury FC advanced to the National League NL, NLN & NLS to run with 22 clubs each in 21/22 (allows for a later start in NL after play-offs in June '21) NL, NLN & NLS to run with 24 clubs each in 22/23 (as had been planned from 20/21) meaning Step1/Step2 2 down / 4 up Step2/Step3 2 down / 8 up

If they're expelled from the National League I can't see them being placed as high as Isthmian Premier. Canvey Island and Grays Athletic both resigned from the National League after completing their fixtures and were made to rejoin the Isthmian League at D1N level. If the FA takes a dim view of their actions they could easily find themselves in the county league.
